Slow down before tight turns
Twenty knots on a monitor produces the visual sensation of about ten. The advice to "taxi at a walking pace" cannot fix this, because your sense of walking pace is exactly the thing that's broken. Put the groundspeed readout in your scan and obey it for the next fifty flights, the way a student pilot leans on the airspeed indicator before learning to read attitude.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 6,228 ft of the approach.
Plan view — the first 6,228 ft of the 12,040 ft runway, to the same scale as the side view.
Touched down 2,765 ft past the threshold — beyond the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with a taxiing period from the parking to the runway, which took 8 minutes and covered a distance of 2 nautical miles. The aircraft, a Boeing 737-700, then departed from runway 10R at KBOI Boise Air Terminal/Gowen Field. The takeoff distance was 4,513 feet, which accounted for 46% of the runway. The liftoff speed was 145 knots.
The local weather conditions at the time of departure were characterized by a temperature of 44°F and a wind speed of 2 knots from a direction of 339°. The crosswind was 1 knot, and the tailwind was also 1 knot. The aircraft then began its enroute climb, starting 1 mile southeast of KBOI Boise Air Terminal/Gowen Field. The climb took 16 minutes and covered a distance of 110 nautical miles, during which the aircraft ascended from 3,902 feet above sea level to 37,014 feet above sea level, an increase of 33,112 feet.
Following the enroute climb, the aircraft entered a level cruise phase, which started 4 miles southwest of U99 Laidlaw Corrals Airport Paul. This phase lasted for 43 minutes and covered a distance of 342 nautical miles. The aircraft then began its enroute descent, starting 13 miles south of WY11 A Bar A Ranch Airstrip Encampment. The descent took 20 minutes and covered a distance of 106 nautical miles, during which the aircraft descended from 36,910 feet above sea level to 10,145 feet above sea level, a decrease of 26,765 feet.
The aircraft then entered another level cruise phase, which started 2 miles northeast of Glendale. This phase lasted for only 3 minutes and covered a distance of 13 nautical miles. The aircraft then began its final descent, starting 1 mile southeast of Cottonwood. The descent took 6 minutes and covered a distance of 16 nautical miles, during which the aircraft descended from 9,764 feet above sea level to 6,627 feet above sea level, a decrease of 3,137 feet.
The final approach to runway 34R at KDEN Denver International Airport was made from the south, with a heading of 1.0° and at an altitude of 4 nautical miles and 1,266 feet above ground level. The landing was made on runway 34R, which had a length of 12,040 feet. The threshold height was good, but the threshold speed was slightly above the target at 138 knots.
The touchdown point was 1,399 feet beyond the touchdown zone, and the touchdown speed was 127 knots, which was a little fast. However, the touchdown rate was good at -156 feet per minute. The runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned by 23 feet from the centerline. The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of 34°F and a wind speed of 3 knots from a direction of 20°. The crosswind was 1 knot, and the headwind was 2 knots.
The total landing distance was 5,962 feet, which accounted for 50% of the runway. The runway rollout alignment was slightly misaligned by 38 feet from the centerline. The taxiing period from the runway to the parking took 9 minutes and covered a distance of 2 nautical miles. The total flight distance was 596 nautical miles, and the flight duration was 107 minutes. The aircraft used a total of 8,088 pounds of fuel during the flight.
The Boeing 737-700 aircraft successfully landed at KDEN Denver International Airport on runway 34R. The final approach was initiated from the south, with the aircraft heading 1.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,266 feet above ground level. The aircraft maintained a good threshold height, which is a crucial aspect of a safe landing.
Upon touchdown, the aircraft's speed was slightly above the target threshold speed of 136 kt, registering at 138 kt. However, the touchdown speed of 127 kt was a bit faster than the ideal speed, which could have resulted in a longer rollout distance. The touchdown rate of -156 fpm was within the acceptable range, indicating a controlled descent.
The touchdown point was located 1,399 feet beyond the designated touchdown zone, which is a relatively long distance. This could be attributed to the slightly fast touchdown speed. The runway touchdown position was also slightly misaligned by 23 feet from the centreline, which may have contributed to the longer rollout distance.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of 34°F and a wind speed of 3 kt from a direction of 20°. The crosswind component was minimal at 1 kt, while the headwind component was 2 kt. These conditions were relatively calm, which should have facilitated a smooth landing.
The total landing distance of 5,962 feet was 50% of the available runway length of 12,040 feet. This indicates that the aircraft had sufficient runway remaining for a safe stop. However, the runway rollout alignment was slightly misaligned by 38 feet from the centreline, which may have required some corrective action from the pilots.
Overall, the landing was successful, but there were some minor deviations from the ideal parameters. The pilots demonstrated good control and management of the aircraft, and the landing was completed safely.
