Monitor your taxi speed
Twenty knots on a monitor produces the visual sensation of about ten. The advice to "taxi at a walking pace" cannot fix this, because your sense of walking pace is exactly the thing that's broken. Put the groundspeed readout in your scan and obey it for the next fifty flights, the way a student pilot leans on the airspeed indicator before learning to read attitude.

One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 1,991 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 146 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with a taxiing period from the parking to the runway, which took 11 minutes and covered a distance of 6 nautical miles. The aircraft, a Boeing 737-800, then departed from runway 05 at RJTT Tokyo Haneda International Airport. The takeoff distance was 1,697 meters, which accounted for 68% of the runway. The liftoff speed was 163 knots.
The local weather conditions at the time of departure were characterized by a temperature of 12 degrees Celsius, with a wind speed of 12 knots at a direction of 9 degrees. This resulted in a crosswind of 6 knots and a headwind of 10 knots. The aircraft then began its enroute climb, starting 2 miles east of RJTT Tokyo Haneda International Airport. The climb took 10 minutes and covered a distance of 87 nautical miles, during which the aircraft ascended from an altitude of 1,022 feet above sea level to 28,960 feet above sea level, an increase of 27,938 feet.
Following the enroute climb, the aircraft entered a level cruise phase, which started 7 miles north of Kanaya, Shizuoka, Japan. This phase lasted for 4 minutes and covered a distance of 62 nautical miles. The aircraft then began its enroute descent, starting 7 miles east of Toba, Mie-ken, Japan. The descent took 14 minutes and covered a distance of 95 nautical miles, during which the aircraft descended from an altitude of 28,774 feet above sea level to 519 feet above sea level, a decrease of 28,255 feet.
The final approach to runway 33 at RJBD Nanki Shirahama Airport was made from the south-east, with a heading of 323.0 degrees at an altitude of 221 feet above ground level and a distance of 1 nautical mile from the runway. The landing was made on runway 33, which had a length of 1,991 meters. The threshold height was good, and the threshold speed was slightly below the target at 119 knots.
The touchdown distance was good at 142 meters, and the touchdown speed was 118 knots, which was also good. The touchdown rate was firm at -309 feet per minute. However, the runway touchdown position was misaligned by 9.5 meters from the centerline. The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of 11 degrees Celsius, with a wind speed of 15 knots at a direction of 340 degrees. This resulted in a crosswind of 5 knots and a headwind of 14 knots.
The total landing distance was 694 meters, which accounted for 35% of the runway. The runway rollout alignment was very good. The taxiing period from the runway to the parking took less than 1 minute and covered a distance of less than 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 252 nautical miles, and the flight duration was 41 minutes. The aircraft used 2,812 kilograms of fuel during the flight.
The Boeing 737-800 aircraft successfully landed at RJBD Nanki Shirahama Airport, achieving a high score of 94.8%. The final approach to runway 33 was conducted from the south east, with a heading of 323.0° at 1 nautical mile and 221 feet above ground level (agl). The aircraft touched down on the runway, which has a length of 1,991 meters, with a good threshold height.
The threshold speed was slightly below the target at 119 knots, but the touchdown distance of 142 meters was considered good. The touchdown speed of 118 knots was also within acceptable limits. However, the touchdown rate was firm at -309 feet per minute (fpm), which may indicate a slightly hard landing.
One notable issue during the landing was the runway touchdown position, which was misaligned by 9.5 meters from the centerline. This may have been due to factors such as crosswind or pilot error. The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of 11°C, with a wind speed of 15 knots at 340°. The crosswind component was 5 knots, while the headwind component was 14 knots.
The total landing distance of 694 meters was 35% of the runway length, which is a relatively short distance. The runway rollout alignment was very good, indicating that the aircraft was able to maintain a stable and controlled descent during the landing. Overall, the landing was considered successful, despite some minor issues with the touchdown position and touchdown rate.
