MY FS FLIGHTS
Flight Score
Slow down before tight turns
Twenty knots on a monitor produces the visual sensation of about ten. The advice to "taxi at a walking pace" cannot fix this, because your sense of walking pace is exactly the thing that's broken. Put the groundspeed readout in your scan and obey it for the next fifty flights, the way a student pilot leans on the airspeed indicator before learning to read attitude.

One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 3,273 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 328 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with a taxiing period from the parking to the runway, which took 9 minutes and covered a distance of 2 nautical miles. The aircraft, a Boeing 777-300, then departed from runway 24L at RJBB Kansai International Airport in Osaka, Japan. The takeoff distance was 1,838 meters, which accounted for 53% of the runway. The liftoff speed was 201 knots, and the local weather conditions at the time of departure were a temperature of 8°C, with a wind speed of 25 knots at 290°.
As the aircraft climbed out of Kansai International Airport, it began its enroute climb, which started 1 mile south of the airport. The climb took 16 minutes and covered a distance of 85 nautical miles, during which the aircraft ascended from 1,014 feet above sea level to 31,006 feet above sea level, an increase of 29,992 feet. The enroute level cruise then began 7 miles northwest of Aki, Japan, and lasted for 48 minutes, covering a distance of 277 nautical miles.
The aircraft then began another enroute climb, this time from 27 miles southwest of RJFC Yakushima Airport, where it climbed from 32,805 feet above sea level to 36,229 feet above sea level, an increase of 3,424 feet, in just 7 minutes and covering a distance of 38 nautical miles. The enroute level cruise then resumed, starting 17 miles southeast of RJX8 Suwanosejima Airport, and lasted for 303 minutes, covering a distance of 2,172 nautical miles.
As the aircraft approached its destination, it began its enroute descent, which started 86 miles east of WIDN Raja Haji Fisabilillah International Airport in Indonesia. The descent took 24 minutes and covered a distance of 116 nautical miles, during which the aircraft descended from 39,296 feet above sea level to 1,313 feet above sea level, a decrease of 37,983 feet.
The final approach to runway 02L at WSSS Singapore Changi Airport was made from the south, with a heading of 23.0° at 4 nautical miles and 1,288 feet above ground level. The landing was made on runway 02L, which had a length of 3,273 meters. The threshold height was good, but the threshold speed was slightly above the target at 143 knots. The touchdown distance was good at 328 meters, but the touchdown speed was a little fast at 142 knots, and the touchdown rate was hard at -497 feet per minute.
The runway touchdown position was misaligned by 8.3 meters from the centreline, and the runway rollout alignment was slightly misaligned by 8.2 meters from the centreline. The local weather conditions at the time of landing were a temperature of 29°C, with a wind speed of 18 knots at 10°. The crosswind was 4 knots, and the headwind was 18 knots.
The total landing distance was 1,390 meters, which accounted for 42% of the runway. After landing, the aircraft taxied to the parking from the runway, which took 7 minutes and covered a distance of 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 2,698 nautical miles, and the flight duration was 414 minutes. The aircraft used 58,959 kilograms of fuel during the flight.
The Boeing 777-300 aircraft successfully landed on runway 02L at WSSS Singapore Changi Airport, achieving a score of 94.2%. The final approach was initiated from the south, heading 23.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,288 feet above ground level (agl).
The aircraft touched down on the runway with a speed of 142 knots, which was slightly above the target threshold speed of 143 knots. However, the touchdown distance of 328 meters was considered good. The touchdown rate of -497 feet per minute (fpm) was deemed hard, indicating a relatively steep descent.
Upon landing, the aircraft's runway touchdown position was found to be misaligned by 8.3 meters from the centerline. This discrepancy was also observed during the runway rollout alignment, where the aircraft was 8.2 meters off-centerline. Despite these minor misalignments, the total landing distance of 1,390 meters, which accounted for 42% of the runway length, was within acceptable limits.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of 29°C and a wind speed of 18 knots from a direction of 10°. The crosswind component was minimal at 4 knots, while the headwind component was 18 knots. These conditions did not appear to have a significant impact on the landing performance of the aircraft. Overall, the landing was considered successful, with the aircraft achieving a high score despite some minor deviations from the ideal touchdown and rollout alignment.
