Improve the taxi
Twenty knots on a monitor produces the visual sensation of about ten. The advice to "taxi at a walking pace" cannot fix this, because your sense of walking pace is exactly the thing that's broken. Put the groundspeed readout in your scan and obey it for the next fifty flights, the way a student pilot leans on the airspeed indicator before learning to read attitude.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 5,000 ft of the approach.
Plan view — the first 5,000 ft of the 8,013 ft runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 1,259 ft touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with the Vision Jet taxiing from the parking area to the runway at RJOH Yonago Kitaro Airport / JASDF Miho Air Base, a process that took 8 minutes and covered a distance of 2 nautical miles. The aircraft then departed from runway 07, with a takeoff distance of 1,869 feet, which accounted for 23% of the runway. The liftoff speed was 98 knots.
As the aircraft climbed away from the airport, it encountered local weather conditions of 42°F temperature and a wind of 20 knots at 350°. The crosswind was 19 knots, while the headwind was 5 knots. The enroute climb started overhead the airport, with the aircraft ascending from 1,034 feet above sea level to 22,946 feet above sea level, an increase of 21,911 feet in 13 minutes, covering a distance of 7 nautical miles.
The enroute level cruise began 4 miles west of Sakaiminato, lasting 16 minutes and covering 66 nautical miles. The aircraft then started its enroute descent 1 mile north of RJOA Hiroshima Airport, descending from 22,907 feet above sea level to 3,226 feet above sea level, a decrease of 19,681 feet in 16 minutes, covering a distance of 43 nautical miles.
The enroute level cruise resumed 14 miles west of RJOM Matsuyama Airport, lasting 5 minutes and covering 10 nautical miles. The enroute descent started 4 miles east of Yanai, with the aircraft descending from 3,182 feet above sea level to 1,275 feet above sea level, a decrease of 1,907 feet in 3 minutes, covering a distance of 7 nautical miles.
The final approach to runway 02 at RJOI Iwakuni Kintaikyo Airport / Marine Corps Air Station Iwakuni was made from the south, with the aircraft heading 7.0° at 4 nautical miles and 1,258 feet above ground level. The landing was successful, with the aircraft touching down on the runway at a speed of 64 knots and a touchdown distance of 1,251 feet. The touchdown rate was fair at -203 feet per minute, and the runway touchdown alignment was perfect.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were 54°F temperature and a wind of 13 knots at 30°. The crosswind was 5 knots, while the headwind was 12 knots. The total landing distance was 2,822 feet, which accounted for 35% of the runway. The runway rollout alignment was very good.
The flight concluded with the aircraft taxiing to the parking area from the runway, a process that took 1 minute and covered a distance of less than 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 140 nautical miles, and the flight duration was 66 minutes. The aircraft used 462 pounds of fuel during the flight.
The Vision Jet successfully landed at RJOI Iwakuni Kintaikyo Airport / Marine Corps Air Station Iwakuni, achieving a score of 97.6%. The aircraft approached the runway from the south, heading 7.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,258 feet above ground level (agl).
The final approach to runway 02 was executed smoothly, with the aircraft maintaining a good threshold height. The threshold speed was also within the acceptable range at 68 knots. Upon touchdown, the aircraft's distance was 1,251 feet, which is considered good. The touchdown speed of 64 knots was also within the acceptable range.
However, the touchdown rate of -203 feet per minute (fpm) was only fair, indicating that the aircraft may have experienced a slightly higher rate of descent than desired. Despite this, the runway touchdown alignment was perfect, indicating that the aircraft was well-aligned with the runway.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of 54°F and winds of 13 knots at 30°. The crosswind component was 5 knots, while the headwind component was 12 knots. The total landing distance of 2,822 feet was 35% of the runway length, which is a relatively short distance.
During the rollout, the aircraft maintained a very good alignment with the runway, indicating that the pilot had successfully controlled the aircraft's speed and direction. Overall, the Vision Jet's landing at RJOI Iwakuni Kintaikyo Airport / Marine Corps Air Station Iwakuni was a successful one, with the aircraft demonstrating good control and precision throughout the approach and landing phases.
