MY FS FLIGHTS
Flight Score
Work on the flare
Arrive slow and the sink rate at the threshold is already above schedule, the flare is short because there is no energy to extend it, and the touchdown is hard in a way that feels exactly like a late flare. Diagnosing a slow arrival as a late flare is the catastrophic misread: you respond by flaring earlier, which bleeds more speed, which makes the next one worse. The tiebreaker is threshold speed against VRef, not feel. Never diagnose a flare without it.

Two stabilised approach gates, each with five checks, where the approach path is 1,000 ft and 500 ft above the runway.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 2,395 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
Touched down 672 m past the threshold — beyond the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
Departure from Düsseldorf Airport (EDDL) on runway 23L was smooth, with the CRJ900 accelerating down the 1,916-meter runway, utilizing 80% of its length to achieve liftoff at a speed of 141 knots. The local weather conditions, with a temperature of 10°C and a 10-knot wind from 160°, resulted in a 10-knot crosswind and a 3-knot headwind. The aircraft's performance was unaffected by these conditions, and it began its enroute climb 1 mile northeast of Meerbusch, Germany, at an altitude of 1,277 feet above sea level.
The climb phase was characterized by a rapid ascent, with the aircraft reaching an altitude of 3,060 feet above sea level in just 2 minutes, covering a distance of 9 nautical miles. Following the climb, the aircraft entered a level cruise phase, lasting 8 minutes and covering 32 nautical miles, before beginning its descent 2 miles east of Essen-Mülheim Airport (EDLE). The descent phase was equally efficient, with the aircraft decreasing its altitude from 2,994 feet to 1,554 feet above sea level in 2 minutes, covering a distance of 6 nautical miles.
The final approach to runway 23L at Düsseldorf Airport was executed from the northeast, with the aircraft maintaining a heading of 233.0° at 4 nautical miles and 1,420 feet above ground level. The landing was successful, with the aircraft touching down 255 meters beyond the touchdown zone at a speed of 120 knots and a firm touchdown rate of -314 feet per minute. The total landing distance was 1,164 meters, or 49% of the runway length, and the runway rollout alignment was slightly misaligned by 10.6 meters from the centerline. The total flight distance was 53 nautical miles, and the aircraft used 468 kilograms of fuel during the 15-minute flight.
The CRJ900 touched down on runway 23L at EDDL Düsseldorf Airport with a satisfactory approach quality, despite a threshold height of 77 ft agl, which was above the target. The aircraft maintained a good threshold speed of 142 kt, indicating a well-executed approach. The touchdown point was located 255 m beyond the touchdown zone, which may have been a result of a slightly high approach path angle.
The touchdown speed of 120 kt was within the acceptable range, and the touchdown rate of -314 fpm was firm, indicating a controlled descent. The runway touchdown alignment was very good, with the aircraft maintaining a precise centerline alignment. The local weather conditions, with a temperature of 10 °C and a wind of 10 kt at 160 °, contributed to a relatively straightforward landing. The crosswind of 10 kt and headwind of 3 kt posed a moderate challenge, but the pilot successfully managed the aircraft.
The total landing distance of 1,164 m was 49% of the runway length, which is within the acceptable range. However, the runway rollout alignment was slightly misaligned by 10.6 m from the centreline, indicating a minor deviation from the desired path. Overall, the landing was scored 85.0%, reflecting a good performance in terms of approach quality, touchdown characteristics, and runway alignment, but with some room for improvement in terms of rollout alignment.
