Slow down before tight turns
Twenty knots on a monitor produces the visual sensation of about ten. The advice to "taxi at a walking pace" cannot fix this, because your sense of walking pace is exactly the thing that's broken. Put the groundspeed readout in your scan and obey it for the next fifty flights, the way a student pilot leans on the airspeed indicator before learning to read attitude.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 3,594 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 320 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with the aircraft taxiing from the parking area to the runway, a process that took 4 minutes and covered a distance of 1 nautical mile. The Airbus A320 then departed from runway 18 at ENTC Tromsø Airport, Langnes, with a takeoff distance of 1,118 meters, which accounted for 56% of the runway. The liftoff speed was 156 knots.
As the aircraft took to the skies, it encountered local weather conditions of 5°C temperature and a wind speed of 2 knots at 220 degrees. The crosswind was 1 knot, while the headwind was 2 knots. The enroute climb started overhead ENTC Tromsø Airport, Langnes, and the aircraft ascended from 1,003 feet above sea level to 38,430 feet above sea level, an increase of 37,427 feet, in 13 minutes and covering a distance of 139 nautical miles.
Following the initial climb, the aircraft entered a level cruise phase, which started 14 miles northeast of Straumen, Nordland Fylke, Norway. This phase lasted for 13 minutes and covered a distance of 359 nautical miles. The aircraft then began its descent, which started 9 miles southeast of EN25 Solenstua, Innlandet, Norway. The descent from 38,566 feet above sea level to 9,628 feet above sea level, a decrease of 28,938 feet, took 11 minutes and covered a distance of 110 nautical miles.
The aircraft entered another level cruise phase, which started 6 miles northeast of Bjorkelangen, Viken, Norway, and lasted for 2 minutes, covering a distance of 18 nautical miles. The final descent phase started 3 miles south of Hemnes, Viken, Norway, and the aircraft descended from 9,629 feet above sea level to 1,843 feet above sea level, a decrease of 7,786 feet, in 9 minutes and covering a distance of 30 nautical miles.
The final approach to runway 01L at ENGM Oslo Airport, Gardermoen, was made from the south, with a heading of 16.0 degrees at 4 nautical miles and 1,163 feet above ground level. The landing on runway 01L was successful, with a touchdown distance of 318 meters and a touchdown speed of 128 knots. The touchdown rate was fair at -256 feet per minute, and the runway touchdown alignment was perfect.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were -3°C temperature and a wind speed of 2 knots at 20 degrees. The crosswind was 0 knots, while the headwind was 1 knot. The total landing distance was 1,150 meters, which accounted for 32% of the runway. The runway rollout alignment was also perfect. The aircraft then taxiied to the parking area, a process that took 2 minutes and covered less than 1 nautical mile.
The total flight distance was 664 nautical miles, and the flight duration was 58 minutes. The aircraft used 3,880 kilograms of fuel during the flight.
The Airbus A320 successfully landed on runway 01L at ENGM Oslo Airport, Gardermoen, with an impressive score of 99.6%. The aircraft approached the runway from the south, heading 16.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,163 feet above ground level (agl). The pilot's final approach was executed with precision, taking into account the local weather conditions.
The temperature at the time of landing was -3°C, and the wind was relatively calm, blowing at 2 knots from a direction of 20°. This resulted in a negligible crosswind component of 0 knots and a slight headwind of 1 knot. The aircraft's speed and altitude were well-managed, with a threshold speed of 132 knots and a touchdown speed of 128 knots, both of which were within the acceptable range.
Upon touchdown, the aircraft's distance from the threshold was 318 meters, which is considered good. The touchdown rate of -256 feet per minute (fpm) was fair, indicating that the aircraft touched down slightly harder than ideal. However, this did not affect the overall performance of the landing. The runway touchdown alignment was perfect, indicating that the aircraft was aligned with the runway centerline at the moment of touchdown.
The total landing distance of 1,150 meters was 32% of the runway length, which is a relatively short distance. This suggests that the pilot's approach and touchdown were well-executed, and the aircraft was able to stop quickly and safely. The runway rollout alignment was also perfect, indicating that the aircraft was aligned with the runway centerline during the rollout phase.
Overall, the landing was a success, with the aircraft touching down safely and efficiently. The pilot's skills and experience were evident in the precision and control of the aircraft during the final approach and touchdown phases.
