Work on the flare
Arrive slow and the sink rate at the threshold is already above schedule, the flare is short because there is no energy to extend it, and the touchdown is hard in a way that feels exactly like a late flare. Diagnosing a slow arrival as a late flare is the catastrophic misread: you respond by flaring earlier, which bleeds more speed, which makes the next one worse. The tiebreaker is threshold speed against VRef, not feel. Never diagnose a flare without it.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 5,551 ft of the approach.
Plan view — the first 5,551 ft of the 9,936 ft runway, to the same scale as the side view.
Touched down 2,260 ft past the threshold — beyond the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with a taxiing period from the parking to the runway, which took 11 minutes and covered a distance of 2 nautical miles. The aircraft, a Boeing 737-700, then departed from runway 03L at SVMC La Chinita International Airport in Maracaibo, Venezuela. The takeoff distance was 1,874 feet, which accounted for 19% of the runway. The liftoff speed was 131 knots.
As the aircraft took off, it encountered local weather conditions with a temperature of 86 degrees Fahrenheit and winds of 5 knots at 82 degrees. The crosswind was 4 knots, and the headwind was 2 knots. After departing from La Chinita International Airport, the aircraft began its enroute climb, which started overhead the airport and reached an altitude of 29,025 feet above sea level. The climb was a significant increase of 27,691 feet in just 7 minutes, covering a distance of 35 nautical miles.
Following the enroute climb, the aircraft entered a level cruise phase, which started 15 miles southeast of SVWS Santa Rita Airport. This phase lasted for 46 minutes and covered a distance of 335 nautical miles. The aircraft then began its enroute descent, which started 11 miles west of SVDA La Tortuga Punta Delgada Airport. The descent was a decrease of 27,632 feet in 21 minutes, covering a distance of 81 nautical miles.
As the aircraft approached its destination, it began its final approach to runway 09 at SVMG Del Caribe Santiago Mariño International Airport from the west. The aircraft was heading at 78.0 degrees at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,364 feet above ground level. The local weather conditions at the destination airport were a temperature of 79 degrees Fahrenheit and winds of 6 knots at 90 degrees. The crosswind was 1 knot, and the headwind was 5 knots.
The aircraft landed on runway 09, which had a length of 9,936 feet. The threshold height was above the target, and the threshold speed was slightly above the target at 115 knots. The touchdown point was 860 feet beyond the touchdown zone, and the touchdown speed was 107 knots, which was a little fast. However, the touchdown rate was fair at -215 feet per minute, and the runway touchdown alignment was perfect.
The total landing distance was 5,251 feet, which accounted for 53% of the runway. The runway rollout alignment was also perfect. After landing, the aircraft taxied to the parking area, which took 6 minutes and covered a distance of less than 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 459 nautical miles, and the flight duration was 90 minutes. The aircraft used 7,156 pounds of fuel during the flight.
The Boeing 737-700 aircraft successfully landed at Del Caribe Santiago Mariño International Airport, achieving a score of 91.4%. The final approach to runway 09 was initiated from the west, with a heading of 78.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,364 feet above ground level (agl).
Upon landing, the aircraft touched down 860 feet beyond the designated touchdown zone, which is slightly outside the target area. The touchdown speed of 107 knots was a bit faster than the target speed, indicating that the pilot may have needed to apply more braking force to bring the aircraft to a stop. However, the touchdown rate of -215 feet per minute (fpm) was considered fair, suggesting that the pilot was able to manage the descent effectively.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were favorable, with a temperature of 79°F and a gentle wind of 6 knots from a direction of 90°. The crosswind component was minimal at 1 knot, while the headwind component was 5 knots, which helped to reduce the aircraft's ground speed and make the landing more manageable.
The runway touchdown alignment was perfect, indicating that the pilot was able to maintain a stable and aligned approach to the runway. The runway rollout alignment was also perfect, suggesting that the pilot was able to control the aircraft's speed and direction effectively during the rollout phase.
The total landing distance of 5,251 feet was 53% of the runway length, which is a relatively short distance considering the aircraft's size and weight. Overall, the landing was considered successful, with the pilot demonstrating good control and management of the aircraft throughout the approach and landing phases.
