Flight Score
Departure
Make small rudder corrections to track the centreline, aiming at a point at the far end of the runway.
What happened: You drifted off the runway centreline during the takeoff roll.
Watch for: Runway centreline position, nosewheel on centreline.
See Departure Roll
Arrival
Add power on short final to hold 70 kt at the threshold rather than letting speed decay.
What happened: You crossed the threshold at 55 kt against a target of 70 kt, below reference speed.
Watch for: Airspeed indicator, hold 70 kt down to the threshold.
See Arrival Landing
Every knot above Vref is stored kinetic energy, and energy stored at the threshold must be dissipated in ground effect before the aeroplane will stop flying. Because kinetic energy scales with the square of speed, the excess you must dissipate grows fast. At a 45-knot approach, five knots hot is over a tenth more speed and roughly a quarter more energy to get rid of in ground effect. This is why the fix is never in the flare. It was decided three miles earlier, on final, at the airspeed indicator.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 573 m of the approach.
Plan view — the full 573 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 36 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The Kodiak 100 taxied from the parking area to runway 02 at AYGH Guhu Airstrip in 4 minutes, covering less than 1 nm during the taxi-out.
During the departure roll on runway 02, the aircraft accelerated to a liftoff speed of 70 kt and left the ground after traveling 392 m, which represented 68 % of the runway length; ambient temperature was 16 °C with a wind from 270° at 3 kt, a 3 kt crosswind component and a 1 kt tailwind.
The climb commenced overhead the airfield, climbing from 4 024 ft asl to 5 996 ft asl - a gain of 1 973 ft - in 2 minutes while covering 6 nm.
Level cruise began approximately 5 mi southeast of the airfield and was maintained for 2 minutes, during which the aircraft flew 5 nm.
Descent started about 3 mi east of AYGH, descending from 6 007 ft asl to 4 006 ft asl - a loss of 2 002 ft - in 2 minutes and covering 4 nm.
The final approach to runway 20 was executed from the northeast on a heading of 203.0° at 0 nm and 64 ft agl; local conditions were 15 °C, wind from 296° at 3 kt, a 3 kt crosswind and no headwind.
Landing on runway 20 was achieved with a threshold speed of 55 kt, a touchdown distance of 33 m, touchdown speed of 52 kt and a touchdown rate of minus 92 fpm; the touchdown point was offset 9.0 m from the centreline. Total landing distance measured 210 m, representing 37 % of the runway, and the rollout ended with a lateral deviation of 8.9 m from the centreline.
In summary, the flight covered a total of 16 nm, required 13 minutes of elapsed time and used -2 kg of fuel.
The Kodiak 100 achieved a final approach to runway 20 at AYGH Guhu Airstrip from the north-east on a heading of 203.0° at 0 nm and 64 ft agl, with a temperature of 15 °C, wind 3 kt from 296°, a 3 kt crosswind component and no headwind.
The threshold height was good and the threshold speed was a little below target at 55 kt.
Touchdown occurred 33 m down the runway at a speed of 52 kt, which was good, and the vertical rate was excellent at minus 92 fpm; however, the touchdown point was misaligned by 9.0 m from the centreline.
The aircraft used a total landing distance of 210 m, representing 37 % of the 573 m runway, and the rollout alignment was slightly misaligned by 8.9 m from the centreline.
To improve future landings, focus on tightening lateral alignment to reduce the 9.0 m and 8.9 m deviations, and adjust the approach to achieve the target threshold speed more precisely.
