Flight Score
Smooth the climb
A good takeoff has a defined shape. It also has a defined end. For an airliner that's thrust reduction and acceleration, commonly somewhere around 1,000 to 1,500 ft above the airfield depending on the operator, while for a light aircraft it's established at Vy with the flaps on schedule. Most simmers have no defined end to their takeoff, which is exactly why it never gets judged.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: seven checks where the approach path is 300 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out. These checks are the approach's score.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 1,786 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 158 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
Departing from Cotswold Airport, the Beechcraft A36 Bonanza began its takeoff roll on runway 08, accelerating to a liftoff speed of 77 kt. The aircraft cleared the runway threshold in 715 m, utilizing 44% of the available length. The climb phase commenced shortly after, as the aircraft transitioned from the ground to the enroute climb configuration, ascending from 705 ft above sea level to 655 ft asl in 2 minutes, covering a distance of 3 nm.
As the aircraft continued on its route, it eventually entered the final approach phase, aligning with runway 26 at EGBP Cotswold Airport from the east. The aircraft maintained a heading of 260.0° at 1 nm and 234 ft above ground level, positioning itself for a precise touchdown. Upon landing, the aircraft touched down at a speed of 56 kt, with a touchdown rate of 38 fpm, indicating a smooth and controlled descent. The total landing distance was 279 m, accounting for 17% of the runway length, and the runway rollout alignment was also deemed very good.
The flight concluded with a total distance of 4 nm, having utilized 83 kg of fuel. The aircraft's performance was characterized by a good threshold height, a slightly below-target threshold speed of 69 kt, and a touchdown speed of 56 kt. The local weather conditions during the approach and landing phases were marked by a temperature of 34 °C and a wind speed of 1 kt at 35°, with minimal crosswind and tailwind components. Overall, the flight demonstrated a high level of precision and control, with the aircraft executing a smooth and efficient takeoff, climb, and landing.
The final approach to runway 26 at EGBP Cotswold Airport from the east, heading 260.0°, was executed with precision. At 1 nm and 234 ft above ground level, the aircraft maintained a stable and controlled descent. The approach quality was excellent, with a good threshold height achieved.
As the aircraft touched down on the runway, the threshold speed of 69 kt was slightly below the target, but still within acceptable limits. The touchdown distance of 157 m was good, and the touchdown speed of 56 kt was also satisfactory. The touchdown rate of 38 fpm was perfect, indicating a smooth and controlled touchdown. The runway touchdown alignment was very good, with the aircraft centered on the runway.
Following touchdown, the aircraft rolled out along the runway, maintaining very good alignment. The total landing distance of 279 m was 17% of the runway length, indicating a short and controlled rollout. The local weather conditions, with a temperature of 34°C and a light wind of 1 kt at 35°, did not pose any significant challenges to the landing. Overall, the landing was executed to a high standard, with a score of 99.7%.
