Maintain the centreline
A small uncorrected heading error at 40 knots becomes a metre of offset per second by 100 knots, noticed only at rotation, producing a crabbed liftoff. Root cause is nearly always eyes on the tape instead of the far end of the runway. Small heading changes displace a distant point visibly long before the nearby centreline stripes look wrong.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 1,608 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,608 m of the 2,944 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 464 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with the Airbus A320 taxiing from the parking area to the runway at ENTC Tromsø Airport, Langnes, taking approximately 6 minutes and covering less than 1 nautical mile. The departure roll took place on runway 36, with a takeoff distance of 1,464 meters, which is 73% of the runway length. The liftoff speed was 148 knots.
As the aircraft climbed out of Tromsø, it began its enroute climb, starting 1 mile north of the airport and reaching an altitude of 36,315 feet above sea level. This climb, which covered 97 nautical miles, took 19 minutes and involved an increase of 35,302 feet in altitude. The local weather conditions at the time were characterized by a temperature of 15°C.
Following the initial climb, the aircraft entered a level cruise phase, which started 4 miles southwest of Ballangen, Norway. This phase lasted for 54 minutes and covered a distance of 409 nautical miles. The aircraft then began its enroute descent, starting 9 miles northeast of Atna Koppang, Norway, and descending from 36,735 feet to 9,291 feet above sea level. This descent, which covered 101 nautical miles, took 16 minutes and involved a decrease of 27,444 feet in altitude.
The aircraft then entered another level cruise phase, this time starting 1 mile west of Hønefoss Airfield, Eggemoen, Norway, and lasting for 7 minutes. This phase covered a distance of 27 nautical miles. The aircraft then began its final descent, starting 3 miles north of Hyggen, Norway, and descending from 9,162 feet to 1,961 feet above sea level. This descent, which covered 29 nautical miles, took 10 minutes and involved a decrease of 7,201 feet in altitude.
The final approach to runway 01R at ENGM Oslo Airport, Gardermoen, was made from the south, with a heading of 16.0° and an altitude of 1,278 feet above ground level. The aircraft landed on the runway, which had a length of 2,944 meters. The threshold height was good, but the threshold speed was slightly above the target speed of 137 knots. The touchdown distance was good at 463 meters, but the touchdown speed of 132 knots was a little fast. The touchdown rate was good at -185 feet per minute.
The runway touchdown position was misaligned by 11.6 meters from the centerline, and the runway rollout alignment was slightly misaligned by 11.5 meters from the centerline. The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of 24°C, with a wind speed of 12 knots at 30° and a crosswind of 3 knots and a headwind of 12 knots.
The total landing distance was 1,517 meters, which is 52% of the runway length. The taxiing to the parking area from the runway took approximately 7 minutes and covered less than 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 671 nautical miles, taking 121 minutes, and the aircraft used 4,536 kilograms of fuel during the flight.
The Airbus A320 successfully landed at ENGM Oslo Airport, Gardermoen, with a score of 95.2%. The aircraft approached the runway from the south, heading 16.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,278 feet above ground level (agl). The final approach was made to runway 01R, which has a length of 2,944 meters.
The threshold height was reported as good, but the threshold speed was slightly above the target at 137 knots. This indicates that the aircraft may have been slightly faster than desired during the final approach. However, the touchdown distance was good at 463 meters, which suggests that the aircraft was able to maintain control and land smoothly.
The touchdown speed was reported as a little fast at 132 knots, which may have contributed to a slightly higher touchdown rate of -185 feet per minute (fpm). Despite this, the touchdown rate was still considered good, indicating that the aircraft was able to absorb the impact of landing smoothly.
One area for improvement was the runway touchdown position, which was misaligned by 11.6 meters from the centerline. This may have been due to a slight deviation in the aircraft's alignment during the final approach. Additionally, the runway rollout alignment was also slightly misaligned by 11.5 meters from the centerline.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were favorable, with a temperature of 24°C and a wind speed of 12 knots at 30°. The crosswind component was minimal at 3 knots, while the headwind component was 12 knots, which helped to reduce the landing distance.
The total landing distance was 1,517 meters, which is 52% of the runway length. This indicates that the aircraft was able to land safely and efficiently, with a good balance between speed and control. Overall, the landing was considered successful, with a score of 95.2%, indicating a high level of proficiency and control.
