MY FS FLIGHTS
Flight Score
Work on the flare
Arrive slow and the sink rate at the threshold is already above schedule, the flare is short because there is no energy to extend it, and the touchdown is hard in a way that feels exactly like a late flare. Diagnosing a slow arrival as a late flare is the catastrophic misread: you respond by flaring earlier, which bleeds more speed, which makes the next one worse. The tiebreaker is threshold speed against VRef, not feel. Never diagnose a flare without it.

Two stabilised approach gates, each with five checks, where the approach path is 1,000 ft and 500 ft above the runway.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 2,074 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 365 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
Departing from Edinburgh Airport, the Airbus A319 began its journey by taxiing from the parking area to the runway, a process that took 5 minutes and covered a distance of 1 nautical mile. As the aircraft lined up on runway 24, the crew initiated the departure roll, and the aircraft lifted off the ground after a takeoff distance of 1,032 meters, which accounted for 48% of the available runway length. The liftoff speed was 150 knots, and the aircraft climbed away from the airport into the local weather conditions, which featured a temperature of 6°C and a wind of 16 knots from 249°.
As the aircraft climbed to its enroute cruise altitude, it passed overhead Ratho Station, a point approximately 10 minutes into the climb. During this phase, the aircraft ascended from 1,104 feet above sea level to 31,025 feet, an increase of 29,920 feet, and covered a distance of 94 nautical miles. The enroute level cruise phase began 3 miles northwest of Coniston, Cumbria, and lasted for 5 minutes, during which the aircraft covered a further 105 nautical miles. As the aircraft approached its destination, it initiated its enroute descent phase, starting 1 mile west of Tatenhill Airfield, and descended from 31,004 feet to 1,909 feet, a decrease of 29,095 feet, in 13 minutes and covering 106 nautical miles.
The final approach to runway 25 at London Luton Airport was initiated from the east, and the aircraft touched down on the runway after a touchdown distance of 366 meters, which was 52% of the available runway length. The touchdown speed was 129 knots, which was slightly above the recommended threshold speed of 131 knots. The runway touchdown alignment was very good, and the runway rollout alignment was perfect. After taxiing to the parking area, the aircraft had completed a total flight distance of 312 nautical miles, using 2,111 kilograms of fuel, and had taken a total of 36 minutes to complete the journey.
The aircraft touched down on runway 25 at EGGW London Luton Airport with a firm touchdown rate of -306 fpm, slightly above the optimal range. The touchdown speed of 129 kt was a little fast, but the threshold speed of 131 kt was well managed, indicating a good approach configuration. The touchdown distance of 366 m was within the acceptable range, and the runway touchdown alignment was very good, with the aircraft centered on the runway.
As the aircraft rolled out, it maintained perfect alignment with the runway centerline, demonstrating excellent control and coordination. The total landing distance of 1,080 m was 52% of the runway length, which is within the acceptable range for a commercial airliner. The good threshold height and firm touchdown rate contributed to a smooth and controlled rollout. The local weather conditions, with a temperature of 1 °C and a 10 kt headwind, did not pose any significant challenges to the landing.
The overall performance of the aircraft was impressive, with a score of 99.1%. The approach quality was good, and the pilot's ability to manage the aircraft's speed and rate of descent was commendable. The landing was executed with precision and control, and the aircraft came to a stop within a safe distance from the runway threshold. The landing was a testament to the pilot's skill and experience, as well as the aircraft's capabilities.
