Improve the taxi
Twenty knots on a monitor produces the visual sensation of about ten. The advice to "taxi at a walking pace" cannot fix this, because your sense of walking pace is exactly the thing that's broken. Put the groundspeed readout in your scan and obey it for the next fifty flights, the way a student pilot leans on the airspeed indicator before learning to read attitude.

Two stabilised approach gates, each with six checks at 1,000 ft and 500 ft above the runway.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 2,738 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
Touched down 617 m past the threshold — beyond the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
KRNT Renton Municipal Airport served as the departure point for the PC‑12, which taxi‑ed from the parking area to the runway for 7 minutes, covering 1 nm. The aircraft rolled out on runway 34, taking off after a 528 m distance that represented 34 % of the available runway. Liftoff occurred at 91 kt under local conditions of 23 °C, 8 kt wind from 356°, providing an 8 kt headwind and no crosswind. Immediately after departure, the climb commenced over W36 Will Rogers Wiley Post Memorial Seaplane Base, rising from 994 ft asl to 23,008 ft asl—a gain of 22,013 ft achieved in 11 minutes while covering 35 nm.
The aircraft entered level cruise 4 miles southwest of Snoqualmie Pass, maintaining this phase for 176 minutes and covering 780 nm. Descent began 21 miles west of KGRM Devil's Track Airport, where the PC‑12 lowered altitude from 22,317 ft asl to 7,800 ft asl, a reduction of 14,517 ft in 11 minutes over 45 nm. Approaching KGCN Grand Canyon National Park Airport, the final approach was executed from the southwest, heading 41.0° at 4 nm and 1,244 ft agl. The aircraft landed on runway 03, which measures 2,738 m; the threshold speed was slightly above target at 90 kt, and the touchdown occurred 186 m beyond the touchdown zone at 78 kt. The touchdown rate was –80 fpm, and the runway alignment was very good. Local weather at the destination was 19 °C with a 2 kt wind from 250°, yielding a 1 kt crosswind and 1 kt tailwind. The total landing distance was 946 m, representing 35 % of the runway, and the runway rollout alignment was perfect.
After touchdown, the PC‑12 taxi‑ed back to the parking area in 1 minute, covering less than 1 nm. The entire flight covered 867 nm, lasted 206 minutes, and consumed 632 kg of fuel.
The final approach to runway 03 at KGCN Grand Canyon National Park Airport was executed from the southwest, maintaining a heading of 41.0° at 4 nm and 1,244 ft AGL. The aircraft approached with a threshold height that was within acceptable limits, and the threshold speed was slightly above target at 90 kt, indicating a smooth descent profile. The touchdown occurred 186 m beyond the touchdown zone, with a touchdown speed of 78 kt and a touchdown rate of –80 fpm, demonstrating precise control and a well‑managed flare.
Upon contact, the aircraft aligned closely with the runway centreline, achieving a very good touchdown alignment. The touchdown point and speed were within the desired parameters, and the aircraft’s attitude and pitch were maintained to avoid excessive sink rate. The local weather conditions—temperature 19 °C, wind 2 kt from 250°, crosswind 1 kt, and tailwind 1 kt—contributed to a stable approach and a controlled landing.
The rollout covered a total landing distance of 946 m, which represents 35 % of the 2,738 m runway length. The runway rollout alignment was perfect, allowing the aircraft to decelerate efficiently and come to a complete stop well within the available distance. Overall, the landing performance earned a score of 96.9 %, reflecting a high level of proficiency across all phases of the approach, touchdown, and rollout.
