MY FS FLIGHTS
Flight Score
Work on the flare
Arrive slow and the sink rate at the threshold is already above schedule, the flare is short because there is no energy to extend it, and the touchdown is hard in a way that feels exactly like a late flare. Diagnosing a slow arrival as a late flare is the catastrophic misread: you respond by flaring earlier, which bleeds more speed, which makes the next one worse. The tiebreaker is threshold speed against VRef, not feel. Never diagnose a flare without it.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 3,213 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 480 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with the aircraft, an RJ100, taxiing from the parking area to the runway at YPDN Darwin International Airport / RAAF Darwin. This process took 4 minutes and covered a distance of less than 1 nautical mile. The aircraft then departed from runway 29, with a takeoff distance of 1,329 meters, which was 40% of the runway length. The liftoff speed was 142 knots.
The local weather conditions at the time of departure were characterized by a temperature of 32 degrees Celsius, with a wind speed of 13 knots at 330 degrees. This resulted in a crosswind of 9 knots and a headwind of 10 knots. The aircraft climbed to a height of 27,086 feet above sea level, an increase of 25,969 feet from the initial altitude of 1,116 feet, in 31 minutes and covering a distance of 174 nautical miles.
The enroute climb started over Coconut Grove in the Northern Territory, Australia, and continued until the aircraft reached a cruising altitude. The enroute level cruise started at a latitude of -11.0170659 and a longitude of 128.2298333, and lasted for 21 minutes, covering a distance of 146 nautical miles. The aircraft then began another climb, this time from 27,122 feet to 28,910 feet, an increase of 1,788 feet, in just 2 minutes and covering 15 nautical miles.
The enroute level cruise started 26 miles southwest of Viqueque Airport in East Timor, and lasted for 30 minutes, covering a distance of 385 nautical miles. The aircraft then began its descent, starting 54 miles northeast of Selayar - Haji Aroeppala Airport in Indonesia. The descent from 29,213 feet to 1,823 feet took 19 minutes and covered a distance of 86 nautical miles.
The final approach to runway 03 at Hasanuddin International Airport was made from the southwest, with a heading of 29.0 degrees at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,749 feet above ground level. The landing was made on runway 03, which had a length of 3,213 meters. The threshold height was well above the target, while the threshold speed was slightly below the target at 112 knots.
The touchdown point was 156 meters beyond the touchdown zone, with a touchdown speed of 101 knots, which was good. The touchdown rate was fair at -256 feet per minute. The runway touchdown alignment was perfect, and the local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of 24 degrees Celsius, with a wind speed of 10 knots at 30 degrees. The crosswind was 0 knots, and the headwind was 10 knots.
The total landing distance was 954 meters, which was 30% of the runway length. The runway rollout alignment was also perfect. The aircraft then taxied to the parking area from the runway, taking 4 minutes and covering a distance of less than 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 815 nautical miles, taking 118 minutes, and the aircraft used 5,525 kilograms of fuel.
The RJ100 aircraft successfully landed at WAAA Hasanuddin International Airport, achieving a score of 87.7%. The final approach was conducted from the southwest, heading 29.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,749 feet above ground level (agl). The aircraft landed on runway 03, which has a length of 3,213 meters.
Upon landing, the threshold height was found to be well above the target, indicating that the aircraft touched down at a higher altitude than desired. However, the threshold speed was slightly below the target at 112 knots, suggesting that the aircraft was able to slow down sufficiently before touchdown. The touchdown point was located 156 meters beyond the touchdown zone, which is a relatively minor deviation.
The touchdown speed of 101 knots was considered good, indicating that the aircraft was able to touch down at a safe and controlled speed. However, the touchdown rate of -256 feet per minute (fpm) was only fair, suggesting that the aircraft may have experienced a slightly higher rate of descent than desired. The runway touchdown alignment was perfect, indicating that the aircraft was properly aligned with the runway during touchdown.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of 24°C and a wind speed of 10 knots from a direction of 30°. This resulted in a crosswind of 0 knots and a headwind of 10 knots, which may have affected the aircraft's approach and landing. Despite these conditions, the aircraft was able to maintain a perfect runway rollout alignment, indicating that the pilots were able to control the aircraft's speed and direction during the rollout phase.
The total landing distance of 954 meters was 30% of the runway length, which is a relatively short distance. Overall, the landing was considered successful, with the aircraft achieving a good touchdown speed and perfect runway alignment. However, there were some minor deviations in terms of threshold height and touchdown rate, which may be areas for improvement in future landings.
