Maintain the centreline
A small uncorrected heading error at 40 knots becomes a metre of offset per second by 100 knots, noticed only at rotation, producing a crabbed liftoff. Root cause is nearly always eyes on the tape instead of the far end of the runway. Small heading changes displace a distant point visibly long before the nearby centreline stripes look wrong.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 2,914 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 444 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with the aircraft taxiing from the parking to the runway at LEJR Jerez Airport, taking 9 minutes and covering 2 nautical miles. Departure roll took place on runway 02, with a takeoff distance of 1,165 meters, which accounted for 51% of the runway. The aircraft lifted off at a speed of 141 knots.
As the aircraft climbed to a height of 32,790 feet above sea level, it encountered local weather conditions of a temperature of 15°C and a wind speed of 11 knots at 280°. The crosswind was 11 knots, while the tailwind was 2 knots. The enroute climb started 1 mile north of LEJR Jerez Airport and covered a distance of 78 nautical miles in 13 minutes, with an increase in altitude of 31,646 feet.
Following the initial climb, the aircraft entered a level cruise, starting 4 miles south of Casabermeja, Andalusia, Spain. This phase of the flight lasted 34 minutes and covered a distance of 265 nautical miles. The aircraft then began its descent, starting 1 mile west of Chilches, Comunitat Valenciana, Spain, and descending from 32,764 feet to 27,034 feet in 5 minutes, covering 39 nautical miles.
The aircraft then entered another level cruise, starting 2 miles south east of Salsadella, Comunitat Valenciana, Spain, and lasting 5 minutes, covering 34 nautical miles. The descent phase resumed, starting 1 mile north west of L'Ampolla, Catalunya, Spain, and descending from 27,058 feet to 5,875 feet in 14 minutes, covering 81 nautical miles.
The aircraft then entered another level cruise, starting 1 mile south west of Montornes del Valles, Catalunya, Spain, and lasting 3 minutes, covering 11 nautical miles. The descent phase resumed once more, starting 2 miles south east of Mataro, Catalunya, Spain, and descending from 5,884 feet to 2,429 feet in 3 minutes, covering 6 nautical miles.
The final level cruise phase took place, starting 6 miles south of Arenys de Mar, Catalunya, Spain, and lasting 7 minutes, covering 21 nautical miles. The aircraft then began its final approach to runway 24R at LEBL Josep Tarradellas Barcelona-El Prat Airport, approaching from the north east at a heading of 246.0° and at an altitude of 1,275 feet above ground level.
The landing took place on runway 24R, which had a length of 2,914 meters. The threshold height was good, and the threshold speed was also satisfactory at 129 knots. The touchdown distance was good at 444 meters, but the touchdown speed was a little fast at 124 knots. The touchdown rate was fair at -245 feet per minute, and the runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned by 3.7 meters from the centreline.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were a temperature of 16°C and a wind speed of 12 knots at 329°, with a crosswind of 12 knots and a headwind of 1 knot. The total landing distance was 1,408 meters, which accounted for 48% of the runway. The runway rollout alignment was very good.
The final phase of the flight involved taxiing to the parking from the runway, which took 8 minutes and covered less than 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 544 nautical miles, and the flight duration was 104 minutes. The aircraft used 3,520 kilograms of fuel during the flight.
The Airbus A319 successfully landed at LEBL Josep Tarradellas Barcelona-El Prat Airport, achieving a score of 99.3%. The aircraft was approaching the runway from the north east, heading 246.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,275 feet above ground level (agl). The final approach was executed with precision, and the aircraft landed safely on runway 24R, which has a length of 2,914 meters.
The threshold height was good, indicating that the aircraft was at the correct altitude as it approached the runway. The threshold speed of 129 knots was also within the acceptable range, demonstrating the pilot's ability to manage the aircraft's speed during the landing phase. The touchdown distance of 444 meters was also satisfactory, indicating that the aircraft was able to touch down within a reasonable distance from the runway threshold.
However, there were a few areas for improvement. The touchdown speed of 124 knots was slightly faster than the recommended speed, which may have resulted in a slightly higher touchdown rate of -245 feet per minute (fpm). Additionally, the runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned by 3.7 meters from the centerline, which may have required the pilots to make some adjustments during the rollout phase.
The local weather conditions were favorable for the landing, with a temperature of 16°C and a wind speed of 12 knots from 329°. The crosswind component was 12 knots, while the headwind component was only 1 knot. These conditions did not appear to have any significant impact on the landing, and the aircraft was able to maintain its alignment and control throughout the rollout phase.
The total landing distance of 1,408 meters was 48% of the runway length, which is a reasonable distance considering the aircraft's size and weight. The runway rollout alignment was very good, indicating that the pilots were able to maintain control of the aircraft and align it with the centerline of the runway during the rollout phase. Overall, the landing was successful, and the pilots demonstrated good skills and judgment in managing the aircraft during the approach and landing phases.
