Flight Score
Smooth the climb
A good takeoff has a defined shape. It also has a defined end. For an airliner that's thrust reduction and acceleration, commonly somewhere around 1,000 to 1,500 ft above the airfield depending on the operator, while for a light aircraft it's established at Vy with the flaps on schedule. Most simmers have no defined end to their takeoff, which is exactly why it never gets judged.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 5,000 ft of the approach.
Plan view — the first 5,000 ft of the 7,006 ft runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 1,491 ft touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with the aircraft, a Black Square Starship N45FL, taxiing from the parking area to the runway at KOSH Wittman Regional Airport. This process took 15 minutes and covered a distance of 1 nautical mile. The departure roll took place on runway 27, and the takeoff distance was 2,948 feet, which accounted for 52% of the runway. The aircraft lifted off at a speed of 100 knots.
As the aircraft climbed to a higher altitude, it encountered local weather conditions with a temperature of 81°F and winds of 8 knots at 296°. The crosswind was 4 knots, and the headwind was 8 knots. The enroute climb started overhead WS17 Pioneer Airport in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, and the aircraft ascended from 1,168 feet above sea level to 32,808 feet above sea level, an increase of 31,640 feet in 17 minutes, covering a distance of 46 nautical miles.
The enroute level cruise began 2 miles south-east of 2WI9 Bulldog Ranch Airport in Oxford, Wisconsin, and lasted for 157 minutes, covering a distance of 764 nautical miles. The aircraft then started its enroute descent 6 miles south of Georgetown, Colorado, and descended from 33,207 feet above sea level to 8,523 feet above sea level, a decrease of 24,683 feet in 14 minutes, covering a distance of 56 nautical miles.
The final approach to runway 15 at KASE Aspen-Pitkin County Airport (Sardy Field) was made from the north, heading 156.0° at 3 nautical miles and 832 feet above ground level. The landing took place on runway 15, which had a length of 7,006 feet. The threshold height was good, and the threshold speed was 109 knots. The touchdown distance was 1,485 feet, and the touchdown speed was 103 knots, both of which were good. The touchdown rate was perfect at 102 feet per minute, and the runway touchdown alignment was also perfect.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were a temperature of 72°F and winds of 14 knots at 304°. The crosswind was 8 knots, and the tailwind was 12 knots. The total landing distance was 4,636 feet, which accounted for 66% of the runway. The runway rollout alignment was perfect. The aircraft then taxiied to the parking area from the runway, taking 1 minute and covering less than 1 nautical mile.
In total, the flight covered a distance of 872 nautical miles and took 195 minutes to complete. The aircraft used 2,327 pounds of fuel during the flight.
The aircraft, Black Square Starship N45FL, successfully landed at KASE Aspen-Pitkin County Airport (Sardy Field) with an impressive score of 99.9%. The final approach to runway 15 was initiated from the north, with the aircraft heading 156.0° at a distance of 3 nautical miles and an altitude of 832 feet above ground level (agl).
The landing was executed flawlessly, with the aircraft touching down on the runway at a speed of 109 knots, which was well within the threshold speed requirements. The touchdown distance of 1,485 feet was also within the acceptable range, indicating a smooth and controlled descent. Furthermore, the touchdown speed of 103 knots was good, and the touchdown rate of 102 feet per minute (fpm) was perfect, demonstrating exceptional control and precision.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were favorable, with a temperature of 72°F and a wind speed of 14 knots from a direction of 304°. Although there was a crosswind of 8 knots and a tailwind of 12 knots, the pilot successfully managed the aircraft to maintain perfect runway touchdown alignment. The total landing distance of 4,636 feet was 66% of the runway length, which is a respectable figure considering the challenging weather conditions.
The runway rollout alignment was also perfect, indicating that the pilot maintained control of the aircraft throughout the landing process. Overall, the landing of Black Square Starship N45FL at KASE Aspen-Pitkin County Airport (Sardy Field) was a testament to the pilot's exceptional skills and the aircraft's capabilities.
