Smooth the climb
A good takeoff has a defined shape. It also has a defined end. For an airliner that's thrust reduction and acceleration, commonly somewhere around 1,000 to 1,500 ft above the airfield depending on the operator, while for a light aircraft it's established at Vy with the flaps on schedule. Most simmers have no defined end to their takeoff, which is exactly why it never gets judged.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 1,193 m of the approach.
Plan view — the full 1,193 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 202 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with a departure roll from runway 08 at EHTE Teuge Airport, a small airport located in the Netherlands. The aircraft, a DA40-XLS, accelerated down the runway and lifted off at a speed of 60 kt, covering a distance of 396 meters, which was 33% of the runway's length. The local weather conditions at the time of takeoff were characterized by a temperature of 15 °C and a gentle wind blowing at 1 kt from a direction of 270 °.
After a brief enroute level cruise that lasted 2 minutes and covered a distance of 2 nm, the aircraft began its descent. This descent started 1 mile south of Teuge and involved a decrease in altitude from 659 ft to 113 ft, a drop of 546 ft, over a distance of 1 nm. The descent took 2 minutes to complete.
The final approach to runway 08 at EHTE Teuge Airport was made from the west, with the aircraft heading in a direction of 87.0 ° at an altitude of 100 ft agl. The landing was executed smoothly, with the aircraft touching down at a speed of 50 kt and a distance of 200 m from the threshold. The touchdown rate was also smooth, at -145 fpm.
The landing distance was 484 m, which was 41% of the runway's length. The runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned from the centreline, by 3.3 m. The local weather conditions at the time of landing were similar to those at takeoff, with a temperature of 15 °C and a wind blowing at 2 kt from a direction of 237 °.
The aircraft's performance during the landing rollout was excellent, with very good alignment. The total flight distance was 4 nm, and the flight duration was 4 minutes. The aircraft used 43 kg of fuel during the flight.
The DA40-XLS aircraft successfully landed at EHTE Teuge Airport, achieving a high score of 97.8%. The final approach was conducted from the west, heading 87.0° at 0 nm and 100 ft above ground level (agl). The aircraft touched down on runway 08, which has a length of 1,193 meters.
The threshold height was reported as good, indicating that the aircraft was at the correct height as it approached the runway threshold. However, the threshold speed was slightly below the target speed of 62 kt, which may be a minor concern for the pilot. Despite this, the touchdown distance was good at 200 meters, and the touchdown speed of 50 kt was also within acceptable limits.
The touchdown rate was smooth at -145 fpm, indicating a controlled descent and a safe landing. However, the runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned by 3.3 meters from the centerline, which may require some adjustments from the pilot to maintain alignment during the rollout phase.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were favorable, with a temperature of 15°C and a wind speed of 2 kt at 237°. The crosswind and tailwind components were both minimal at 1 kt, which reduced the risk of crosswind or tailwind effects on the landing.
The total landing distance was 484 meters, which is 41% of the runway length. This is a relatively short landing distance, indicating that the pilot was able to control the aircraft's descent and touchdown effectively. The runway rollout alignment was also very good, indicating that the pilot was able to maintain control of the aircraft during the rollout phase and bring it to a safe stop. Overall, the landing was successful, and the pilot demonstrated good control and technique.
