MY FS FLIGHTS
Flight Score
Slow down before tight turns
Twenty knots on a monitor produces the visual sensation of about ten. The advice to "taxi at a walking pace" cannot fix this, because your sense of walking pace is exactly the thing that's broken. Put the groundspeed readout in your scan and obey it for the next fifty flights, the way a student pilot leans on the airspeed indicator before learning to read attitude.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 1,459 m of the approach.
Plan view — the full 1,459 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 141 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with a taxiing period from the parking to the runway, which took 10 minutes and covered a distance of 3 nautical miles. The aircraft, an Airbus A319, then departed from runway 27R at Hartsfield Jackson Atlanta International Airport (KATL). The takeoff distance was 1,654 meters, which accounted for 46% of the runway. The liftoff speed was 160 knots.
The local weather conditions at the time of departure were characterized by a temperature of 15°C, with a wind speed of 2 knots from a direction of 200°. The crosswind component was 2 knots, while the headwind component was 1 knot. The aircraft then began its enroute climb, which started overhead KATL airport and took the aircraft from an altitude of 2,072 feet above sea level to 35,175 feet above sea level, an increase of 33,103 feet in 12 minutes and covering a distance of 115 nautical miles.
Following the enroute climb, the aircraft entered a level cruise phase, which lasted for 12 minutes and covered a distance of 335 nautical miles. This phase began 2 miles north-east of the Rabbit Hole Heliport (52GA) in Atlanta, Georgia. The aircraft then started its enroute descent, which began 7 miles south of Captiva, Florida, and took the aircraft from an altitude of 35,205 feet above sea level to 1,283 feet above sea level, a decrease of 33,921 feet in 15 minutes and covering a distance of 112 nautical miles.
The final approach to runway 09 at Key West International Airport (KEYW) was made from the west, with a heading of 89.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,261 feet above ground level. The landing was made on runway 09, which had a length of 1,459 meters. The threshold height was good, and the threshold speed was also satisfactory at 129 knots. The touchdown distance was good at 141 meters, but the touchdown speed was a little fast at 128 knots. The touchdown rate was very hard at -565 feet per minute, but the runway touchdown alignment was very good.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of 23°C, with a wind speed of 4 knots from a direction of 100°. The crosswind component was 1 knot, while the headwind component was 4 knots. The total landing distance was 847 meters, which accounted for 58% of the runway. The runway rollout alignment was perfect.
The final phase of the flight involved taxiing to the parking from the runway, which took 1 minute and covered a distance of less than 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 570 nautical miles, and the flight duration was 49 minutes. The aircraft used a total of 3,448 kilograms of fuel during the flight.
The Airbus A319 aircraft successfully landed at Key West International Airport (KEYW) with a score of 96.4%. The final approach to runway 09 was initiated from the west, heading 89.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,261 feet above ground level (agl). The aircraft's approach to the runway was precise, with a good threshold height and a threshold speed of 129 knots, which is within the acceptable range.
Upon touchdown, the aircraft's performance was satisfactory, with a touchdown distance of 141 meters, which is within the expected range. However, the touchdown speed of 128 knots was slightly higher than the ideal speed, indicating that the aircraft may have touched down with a bit more force than necessary. The touchdown rate of -565 feet per minute (fpm) was also quite hard, suggesting that the aircraft may have experienced a significant deceleration upon touchdown.
Despite the slightly high touchdown speed and hard touchdown rate, the aircraft's runway touchdown alignment was very good, indicating that the pilot maintained a stable and controlled approach to the runway. The local weather conditions at the time of landing were favorable, with a temperature of 23°C and a gentle headwind of 4 knots from a direction of 100°. The crosswind component was minimal, at 1 knot, which further contributed to the smooth landing.
The total landing distance of 847 meters was 58% of the runway length, indicating that the aircraft was able to stop within a reasonable distance after touchdown. The runway rollout alignment was perfect, suggesting that the pilot maintained control of the aircraft during the rollout phase and was able to bring the aircraft to a stop safely and efficiently. Overall, the landing was successful, with the aircraft scoring a high 96.4% due to its precise approach, good touchdown performance, and controlled rollout.
