Know your rotation speed
A typical trainer rotates in the mid-50s of knots - a 172 at around 55 KIAS, climbing out at a Vy in the low 70s, though check your own POH rather than memorising Cessna's numbers - and the transferable rule is that Vr sits just above the stall speed in takeoff configuration. Rotate early because "it felt ready" and the aircraft lifts off inside ground effect, where induced drag is reduced, then climbs out of it into more drag. On a marginal-performance day the result is an aircraft that lifts off and then refuses to climb, sagging back towards the runway.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.

The rest of the report
Departure from Groningen Airport Eelde, EHGG, commenced with a departure roll on runway 23. The aircraft, an American Champion Scout, accelerated down the 2,343-meter-long runway, utilizing 94% of its available length to achieve liftoff at a speed of 87 knots. The local weather conditions were favorable, with a temperature of 16 degrees Celsius and a negligible wind of 1 knot from 270 degrees, resulting in a negligible headwind and crosswind component.
As the aircraft transitioned to level cruise, it flew overhead Donderen, a location in the province of Drenthe, Netherlands. This phase of the flight lasted for 4 minutes and covered a distance of 3 nautical miles. Following the level cruise, the aircraft began its enroute climb, ascending from an altitude of 165 feet above sea level to 872 feet above sea level, a vertical gain of 706 feet, in 2 minutes. This climb phase was initiated overhead Yde, another location in the province of Drenthe. The aircraft covered a distance of 2 nautical miles during this climb.
The total flight distance was 6 nautical miles, and the entire flight duration was 8 minutes. Notably, the aircraft consumed no fuel during this flight, indicating a highly efficient operation. The flight's performance was likely influenced by the favorable weather conditions and the aircraft's design characteristics. Overall, the flight demonstrated a smooth and efficient progression through its various phases, with the aircraft responding well to the pilot's inputs.
The aircraft touched down before the runway threshold with a touchdown speed of 37 kt, which the data rates as good, and a touchdown rate of -46 fpm, described as perfect. The touchdown point was laterally offset by 4.6 m from the centreline, and the total landing distance measured 267 m, representing 11 % of the runway length. Ambient conditions were a temperature of 16 °C, wind from 270° at 1 kt, with a 1 kt crosswind component and a 1 kt headwind component.
Runway rollout alignment was recorded as very good, indicating the aircraft remained well aligned with the centreline during the deceleration phase.
Refine the flare to achieve touchdown at the intended aim point approximately 300 m (1,000 ft) down the runway, which will eliminate the early-threshold contact. Maintain precise lateral control on final to keep the touchdown point within a few metres of the centreline.
