MY FS FLIGHTS
Flight Score
Work on the flare
Arrive slow and the sink rate at the threshold is already above schedule, the flare is short because there is no energy to extend it, and the touchdown is hard in a way that feels exactly like a late flare. Diagnosing a slow arrival as a late flare is the catastrophic misread: you respond by flaring earlier, which bleeds more speed, which makes the next one worse. The tiebreaker is threshold speed against VRef, not feel. Never diagnose a flare without it.

Two stabilised approach gates, each with five checks, where the approach path is 1,000 ft and 500 ft above the runway.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 3,082 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
Touched down 648 m past the threshold — beyond the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with a taxiing period from the parking to the runway, which took 8 minutes and covered a distance of 1 nautical mile. The aircraft, an Airbus A319, then departed from runway 30 at Bilbao Airport (LEBB) in Spain. The takeoff distance was 1,836 meters, which was 86% of the runway length. The liftoff speed was 178 knots.
The local weather conditions at the time of departure were characterized by a temperature of 15°C and a wind speed of 13 knots from a direction of 250°. This resulted in a crosswind of 10 knots and a headwind of 9 knots. The aircraft began its enroute climb 1 mile east of Erandio, Spain, and ascended from an altitude of 1,178 feet above sea level to 32,941 feet above sea level, an increase of 31,763 feet, in 16 minutes and covering a distance of 72 nautical miles.
The enroute level cruise started overhead Vieux-Boucau-les-Bains, France, and lasted for 56 minutes, during which the aircraft covered a distance of 425 nautical miles. The descent from the cruise altitude began overhead Dury, France, and took 15 minutes to descend from 33,057 feet above sea level to 1,910 feet above sea level, a decrease of 31,147 feet, covering a distance of 88 nautical miles.
The aircraft then entered another enroute level cruise, this time starting 1 mile south east of Zichem, Belgium, and lasting for 6 minutes, during which it covered a distance of 15 nautical miles. The final approach to runway 25L at Brussels Airport (EBBR) was made from the east, heading 250.0°, at an altitude of 1,290 feet above ground level and a distance of 4 nautical miles from the runway.
The landing on runway 25L was successful, with a touchdown point 226 meters beyond the touchdown zone. The touchdown speed was 115 knots, which was good, but the touchdown rate was heavy at -620 feet per minute. The runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned by 3.6 meters from the centerline. The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of 7°C and a wind speed of 5 knots from a direction of 190°, resulting in a crosswind of 4 knots and a headwind of 2 knots.
The total landing distance was 1,235 meters, which was 40% of the runway length. The runway rollout alignment was very good. The taxiing period from the runway to the parking took 6 minutes and covered a distance of less than 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 608 nautical miles, and the flight duration was 111 minutes. The aircraft used 4,017 kilograms of fuel during the flight.
The Airbus A319 aircraft successfully landed at Brussels Airport (EBBR) on runway 25L, achieving a score of 89.9%. The final approach was conducted from the east, heading 250.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,290 feet above ground level (agl). The aircraft touched down on the runway, which has a length of 3,082 meters, with a good threshold height and a threshold speed of 128 knots.
Upon touchdown, the aircraft's speed was 115 knots, which is considered good. However, the touchdown rate was heavy, at -620 feet per minute (fpm), indicating a slightly steeper descent than ideal. The touchdown point was 226 meters beyond the designated touchdown zone, which may indicate a slight over-shooting of the intended landing spot.
The runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned by 3.6 meters from the centerline, which may require some adjustments to the aircraft's alignment during the approach. The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of 7°C, with a wind speed of 5 knots from 190°. The crosswind component was 4 knots, while the headwind component was 2 knots.
The total landing distance was 1,235 meters, which is 40% of the runway length. This is a relatively short landing distance, indicating that the aircraft was able to touch down and come to a stop within a reasonable distance. The runway rollout alignment was very good, suggesting that the aircraft was able to maintain its alignment and direction during the rollout phase.
Overall, the landing was successful, but there were some minor issues with the touchdown rate and alignment. However, the aircraft was able to come to a stop within a reasonable distance, and the rollout alignment was excellent.
