Improve the rollout
A crosswind landing is a geometry problem. The air mass you're flying in is moving sideways across the runway, and you need your ground track down the centreline with your wheels aligned to it at the moment of contact. There are two techniques that will help, the crab and the sideslip.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 2,890 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 338 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The Embraer E175 aircraft took off from runway 34R at KSLC Salt Lake City International Airport, a significant hub in the United States. The departure roll was smooth, and the aircraft lifted off the ground at a speed of 146 kt. The local weather conditions at the time of takeoff were characterized by a temperature of 29 °C and a wind speed of 9 kt at 240 °, resulting in a crosswind of 8 kt and a tailwind of 4 kt.
As the aircraft began its enroute climb, it started 1 mile north of KSLC Salt Lake City International Airport and ascended from an initial altitude of 5,273 ft asl to a cruising altitude of 30,249 ft asl, an increase of 24,976 ft in just 7 minutes. This climb phase covered a distance of 66 nm. The aircraft then transitioned into a level cruise, which started 3 miles northwest of Clarkston, Utah, and lasted for 10 minutes, covering a significant distance of 220 nm.
The enroute descent phase began 4 miles north of the Lewis and Clark Airstrip in Salmon, Idaho, and involved a descent from 30,263 ft asl to 4,072 ft asl, a decrease of 26,191 ft in 12 minutes. This descent phase covered a distance of 87 nm. The aircraft then began its final approach to runway 30 at KMSO Missoula International Airport, approaching from the southeast at a heading of 316.0 ° and at an altitude of 864 ft agl.
The landing on runway 30 at KMSO Missoula International Airport was successful, with the aircraft touching down at a speed of 118 kt, which was slightly faster than the recommended threshold speed. However, the touchdown rate was smooth at -121 fpm, and the runway touchdown alignment was perfect. The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of 22 °C and a wind speed of 6 kt at 230 °, resulting in a crosswind of 6 kt and a headwind of 1 kt.
The total landing distance was 1,373 m, which was 48 % of the runway length. The runway rollout alignment was very good, indicating a smooth and controlled rollout. The taxiing to the parking from the runway took just 2 minutes and covered less than 1 nm. Overall, the flight was successful, covering a total distance of 380 nm and using 1,462 kg of fuel in the process.
The Embraer E175 aircraft successfully landed at Missoula International Airport (KMSO) with a score of 98.7%. The final approach to runway 30 was initiated from the southeast, heading 316.0° at 2 nautical miles and 864 feet above ground level (agl). The aircraft demonstrated good control and precision throughout the approach, ultimately landing safely on the runway.
The landing was executed with a good threshold height, indicating that the aircraft was properly configured for touchdown. The threshold speed of 124 knots was also within acceptable limits, suggesting that the pilots had maintained a safe and controlled approach. However, the touchdown speed of 118 knots was slightly faster than desired, which may have resulted in a slightly longer rollout distance.
Despite the slightly fast touchdown speed, the touchdown rate was smooth at -121 feet per minute (fpm), indicating that the aircraft's descent was well-controlled and gentle. The runway touchdown alignment was perfect, demonstrating the pilots' skill and attention to detail.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were favorable, with a temperature of 22°C and a wind speed of 6 knots from 230°. The crosswind component was 6 knots, while the headwind component was 1 knot. These conditions did not appear to have significantly impacted the landing, and the aircraft's performance was not compromised.
The total landing distance of 1,373 meters was 48% of the runway length, indicating that the aircraft had sufficient stopping distance to safely come to a stop. The runway rollout alignment was also very good, suggesting that the pilots had maintained control of the aircraft throughout the rollout phase.
Overall, the Embraer E175 aircraft demonstrated excellent landing performance at Missoula International Airport, with a score of 98.7%. The pilots' skill and attention to detail were evident throughout the approach and landing, and the aircraft's performance was not compromised by the local weather conditions.
