MY FS FLIGHTS
Flight Score
Departure
Rotate sooner, bringing the nose up at 130 kt rather than letting speed build further.
What happened: You lifted off at 150 kt against a rotation target of 130 kt, rotating late in the ground roll.
Watch for: Watch airspeed and rotate at the target of 130 kt.
See Departure Roll
Arrival
Reduce power earlier on final so threshold speed settles at 98 kt instead of carrying it into the flare.
What happened: You crossed the threshold at 116 kt, well above the 98 kt target speed, and that excess speed was still showing at touchdown. Crossing the threshold fast usually carries straight through to a fast touchdown.
Watch for: Airspeed indicator against 98 kt on short final.
Every knot above Vref is stored kinetic energy, and energy stored at the threshold must be dissipated in ground effect before the aeroplane will stop flying. Because kinetic energy scales with the square of speed, the excess you must dissipate grows fast. At a 45-knot approach, five knots hot is over a tenth more speed and roughly a quarter more energy to get rid of in ground effect. This is why the fix is never in the flare. It was decided three miles earlier, on final, at the airspeed indicator.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
Two stabilised approach gates, each with seven checks, where the approach path is 1,000 ft and 500 ft above the runway.
At the 1,000 ft gate: speed above the reference speed.
At the 500 ft gate: speed above the reference speed.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 5,000 ft of the approach.
Plan view — the first 5,000 ft of the 10,014 ft runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 1,609 ft touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with a taxiing period from the parking area to the runway, which took approximately 3 minutes and covered less than 1 nautical mile. The aircraft, a Cessna CJ4 Citation, then departed from runway 18 at KOMA Eppley Airfield, with a takeoff distance of 2,119 feet, which accounted for 26% of the runway. The liftoff speed was 150 knots.
The local weather conditions at the time of departure were characterized by a temperature of 62°F and a wind speed of 1 knot from 270°. There was a slight crosswind of 1 knot, but no headwind. The aircraft began its enroute climb approximately 1 mile southeast of Carter Lake, Iowa, and ascended from an altitude of 2,029 feet above sea level to 20,008 feet above sea level, an increase of 17,980 feet, in just 8 minutes and covering a distance of 36 nautical miles.
Following the enroute climb, the aircraft entered a level cruise phase, which started 6 miles west of Nebraska City, Nebraska, and lasted for 32 minutes, covering a distance of 214 nautical miles. The enroute descent began 6 miles north of OL36 Trophy Ridge Airport in Pawhuska, Kansas, and involved a descent from 19,999 feet above sea level to 1,898 feet above sea level, a decrease of 18,101 feet, in 14 minutes and covering 54 nautical miles.
The final approach to runway 18L at KTUL Tulsa International Airport was made from the north, with a heading of 183.0° at an altitude of 4 nautical miles and 1,257 feet above ground level. The landing was made on runway 18L, which had a length of 10,014 feet. Although the threshold speed was too high at 116 knots, the touchdown point was 217 feet beyond the touchdown zone, and the touchdown speed of 103 knots was fast. However, the touchdown rate was excellent at -79 feet per minute.
The runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned by 14 feet from the centerline, but the runway rollout alignment was very good. The total landing distance was 2,869 feet, which accounted for 29% of the runway. The taxiing period from the runway to the parking area took approximately 2 minutes and covered less than 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 311 nautical miles, and the flight duration was 62 minutes, with no fuel consumption reported.
The Cessna CJ4 Citation successfully landed at KTUL Tulsa International Airport, achieving a score of 95.6%. The aircraft approached the runway from the north, heading 183.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,257 feet above ground level (agl). The final approach was made to runway 18L, which has a length of 10,014 feet.
Upon landing, the aircraft touched down 217 feet beyond the touchdown zone, indicating that the threshold height was good. However, the threshold speed was too high at 116 knots, suggesting that the pilot may have been able to flare the aircraft more effectively to reduce the touchdown speed. The actual touchdown speed was 103 knots, which was faster than ideal. Despite this, the touchdown rate was excellent at -79 feet per minute (fpm), indicating a smooth and controlled descent.
The runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned by 14 feet from the centerline, which may have been due to a slight deviation in the approach or a minor issue with the aircraft's alignment during the landing. The local weather conditions were favorable, with a temperature of 62°F and a wind speed of 1 knot from 270°, resulting in a negligible crosswind component.
The total landing distance was 2,869 feet, which accounted for 29% of the runway length. This is a relatively short landing distance, indicating that the pilot was able to bring the aircraft to a stop quickly and efficiently. The runway rollout alignment was very good, suggesting that the pilot maintained control of the aircraft during the landing and was able to align it with the centerline of the runway.
Overall, the landing was successful, and the pilot demonstrated good control and technique. However, there were some minor issues with the threshold speed and touchdown position, which may be addressed in future training or practice sessions.
