Monitor your taxi speed
Twenty knots on a monitor produces the visual sensation of about ten. The advice to "taxi at a walking pace" cannot fix this, because your sense of walking pace is exactly the thing that's broken. Put the groundspeed readout in your scan and obey it for the next fifty flights, the way a student pilot leans on the airspeed indicator before learning to read attitude.

One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 2,240 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 2,240 m of the 3,984 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 182 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with a taxiing period from the parking to the runway, which took 8 minutes and covered a distance of 4 nautical miles. The aircraft, a Boeing 747-8, then departed from runway 36C at EHAM Amsterdam Airport Schiphol. The takeoff distance was 482 meters, which accounted for 17% of the runway. The liftoff speed was 182 knots.
The local weather conditions at the time of departure were characterized by a temperature of 15°C, with a wind speed of 7 knots from a direction of 340°. This resulted in a crosswind of 3 knots and a headwind of 6 knots. The aircraft then began its enroute climb, starting overhead Lijnden in the Netherlands. The climb took 11 minutes and covered a distance of 63 nautical miles, during which the aircraft ascended from 1,038 feet above sea level to 32,334 feet.
Following the enroute climb, the aircraft entered a level cruise phase, which started 2 miles east of Kleve in Germany. This phase lasted for 16 minutes and covered a distance of 121 nautical miles. The aircraft then began its enroute descent, starting 2 miles northeast of Butzbach in Germany. The descent took 14 minutes and covered a distance of 13 nautical miles, during which the aircraft descended from 32,381 feet to 5,787 feet.
The aircraft then entered another level cruise phase, which started 2 miles northeast of Karben in Germany. This phase lasted for only 2 minutes and covered a distance of 6 nautical miles. The aircraft then began its final descent, starting 1 mile north of Hanau am Main in Germany. The descent took 4 minutes and covered a distance of 10 nautical miles, during which the aircraft descended from 4,792 feet to 1,696 feet.
The final approach to runway 25L at EDDF Frankfurt Airport was made from the east, with a heading of 250.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,344 feet above ground level. The landing was made on runway 25L, which had a length of 3,984 meters. The threshold height was good, and the threshold speed was slightly below the target at 136 knots.
The touchdown distance was good at 185 meters, and the touchdown speed was also good at 136 knots. However, the touchdown rate was heavy at -697 feet per minute. The runway touchdown alignment was very good, but the runway rollout alignment was misaligned by 18.0 meters from the centerline. The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of 10°C, with a wind speed of 12 knots from a direction of 320°. This resulted in a crosswind of 12 knots and a headwind of 4 knots.
The taxiing period from the runway to the parking took 5 minutes and covered a distance of less than 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 225 nautical miles, and the flight took a total of 61 minutes. The aircraft used a total of 8,403 kilograms of fuel during the flight.
The Boeing 747-8 aircraft successfully landed on runway 25L at Frankfurt Airport (EDDF) with a score of 88.8%. The final approach was initiated from the east, heading 250.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,344 feet above ground level (agl). The aircraft successfully touched down on the runway, with a touchdown distance of 185 meters, which is considered good.
The threshold speed was slightly below the target speed of 136 knots, but this did not affect the overall performance of the landing. The touchdown speed of 136 knots was also within the acceptable range, indicating a smooth and controlled descent. However, the touchdown rate of -697 feet per minute (fpm) was considered heavy, suggesting that the aircraft may have touched down with a slightly higher than ideal rate of descent.
The runway touchdown alignment was very good, indicating that the aircraft was aligned with the centerline of the runway at the moment of touchdown. The local weather conditions at the time of the landing were characterized by a temperature of 10°C and a wind speed of 12 knots from a direction of 320°. The crosswind component was 12 knots, while the headwind component was 4 knots.
The total landing distance of 2,162 meters was 54% of the available runway length, which is a relatively short distance. However, the runway rollout alignment was misaligned by 18.0 meters from the centerline, indicating that the aircraft may have drifted slightly off course during the rollout phase. Despite this, the overall performance of the landing was considered good, with a score of 88.8%.
