Reduce your height at the threshold
Even a modest height error carries straight through to the touchdown. Geometry alone says that crossing the threshold 10 feet high on a 3° path moves your touchdown roughly 190 feet further down the runway before the flare adds anything.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
Two stabilised approach gates, each with seven checks, where the approach path is 1,000 ft and 500 ft above the runway. They are the approach's score: the checks passed out of the checks that ran.
At the 1,000 ft gate: sink rate 1,469 fpm, more than the glideslope needed.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 2,441 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
Touched down 506 m past the threshold — beyond the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
Departing Mengen-Hohentengen Airfield (EDTM) in Germany, the Phenom 300E began its journey with a taxiing period of 8 minutes, covering a distance of 1 nautical mile to reach the runway. With a local temperature of 21°C and a gentle tailwind of 3 knots, the aircraft took off from runway 07 at EDTM, achieving liftoff speed of 125 knots within 438 meters, or 35% of the runway length. The initial climb phase commenced overhead the airfield, where the aircraft ascended from 2,866 feet above sea level to 41,342 feet, a vertical increase of 38,476 feet, in 14 minutes and covering 80 nautical miles.
As the aircraft entered the enroute level cruise phase, it leveled off at 41,342 feet, maintaining a steady altitude for 34 minutes while covering 279 nautical miles. The cruise phase was punctuated by a series of descents and level-offs, with the aircraft descending from 41,445 feet to 6,145 feet in 22 minutes and covering 133 nautical miles. The final descent phase began 2 miles south of Oschiri, Italy, where the aircraft descended from 6,151 feet to 1,701 feet in 6 minutes and covering 19 nautical miles. The aircraft then commenced its final approach to runway 05 at Olbia Costa Smeralda Airport (LIEO), touching down 76 meters beyond the touchdown zone with a speed of 97 knots and a touchdown rate of -220 feet per minute.
The landing distance of 964 meters, or 39% of the runway length, was within acceptable limits, with the runway touchdown position slightly misaligned by 4.2 meters from the centerline. The aircraft taxied to the parking area in 4 minutes, covering a short distance of less than 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance of 535 nautical miles was completed in 94 minutes, with the aircraft consuming 655 kilograms of fuel. The Phenom 300E's performance during the flight was satisfactory, with the crew demonstrating good handling and control throughout the various phases of the flight.
The final approach to runway 05 at LIEO Olbia Costa Smeralda Airport was initiated from the south west, heading 54.0° at 4 nm and 1,669 ft above ground level. The approach quality was satisfactory, with a threshold height of 79 ft agl, which was well above the target. The threshold speed of 108 kt was good, indicating a well-controlled descent.
As the aircraft touched down on the runway, the touchdown point was 76 m beyond the touchdown zone, and the touchdown speed of 97 kt was good. However, the touchdown rate of -220 fpm was fair, suggesting a slightly higher than ideal rate of descent. The runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned by 4.2 m from the centreline, which may have been due to the 1 kt crosswind component. The local weather conditions, with a temperature of 25 °C and a 11 kt headwind, contributed to the overall performance.
The total landing distance of 964 m was 39% of the runway length, which is within acceptable limits. The runway rollout alignment was very good, indicating a smooth and controlled deceleration. Overall, the landing performance was satisfactory, with a score of 84.7%. While there were some minor deviations from the ideal performance, the pilot's skills and the aircraft's capabilities were sufficient to ensure a safe and controlled landing.
