Improve the rollout
A crosswind landing is a geometry problem. The air mass you're flying in is moving sideways across the runway, and you need your ground track down the centreline with your wheels aligned to it at the moment of contact. There are two techniques that will help, the crab and the sideslip.

Two stabilised approach gates, each with five checks, where the approach path is 1,000 ft and 500 ft above the runway.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 4,026 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 273 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
At UBBB Heydar Aliyev International Airport, a departure roll on runway 34 initiated the flight, with the Airbus A320 covering 1,871 meters of the 4,001-meter runway before lifting off at a speed of 154 knots. The local weather conditions at the time of departure featured a temperature of 30 degrees Celsius, with a wind of 8 knots at 59 degrees, resulting in a crosswind of 8 knots and a headwind of 2 knots.
As the aircraft climbed out of Baku City, it transitioned into an enroute climb, reaching an altitude of 1,749 feet above sea level from an initial 967 feet in less than a minute, while covering a distance of 1 nautical mile. The climb phase was followed by a 10-minute enroute level cruise, during which the aircraft maintained a steady altitude and covered a distance of 39 nautical miles. The final approach to runway 34 at UBBB Heydar Aliyev International Airport was initiated from the south, with the aircraft descending from 1,241 feet above ground level to touch down on the runway.
The landing was executed with good threshold height, threshold speed, and touchdown speed, with the aircraft touching down at a speed of 137 knots and a distance of 270 meters from the threshold. The touchdown rate was fair at -218 feet per minute, and the runway touchdown alignment was very good. The total landing distance was 996 meters, accounting for 25% of the runway length. Following the landing, the aircraft experienced a slight misalignment of 10.6 meters from the centerline during the runway rollout. The flight ultimately covered a total distance of 48 nautical miles, consuming 40 kilograms of fuel and lasting 17 minutes.
The aircraft touched down on runway 34 at UBBB Heydar Aliyev International Airport, demonstrating a good threshold height and speed of 138 kt. The approach quality was satisfactory, with a steady descent from 1,241 ft agl at 4 nm from the runway. The aircraft maintained a heading of 347.0°, aligning well with the runway centreline.
Upon touchdown, the aircraft's speed was 137 kt, within the acceptable range, and the touchdown distance of 270 m was also good. However, the touchdown rate of -218 fpm was slightly higher than ideal, indicating a slightly steeper descent than intended. The runway touchdown alignment was very good, with the aircraft remaining well-centred on the runway. The local weather conditions, with a temperature of 20 °C and a gentle headwind of 1 kt, contributed to a smooth landing.
The rollout phase saw the aircraft maintain a good alignment with the runway centreline, albeit slightly misaligned by 10.6 m. The total landing distance of 996 m was 25% of the runway length, indicating a controlled and efficient landing. Overall, the landing performance was satisfactory, with a score of 95.9% reflecting the minor deviations from ideal touchdown and rollout characteristics.
