Maintain the centreline
A small uncorrected heading error at 40 knots becomes a metre of offset per second by 100 knots, noticed only at rotation, producing a crabbed liftoff. Root cause is nearly always eyes on the tape instead of the far end of the runway. Small heading changes displace a distant point visibly long before the nearby centreline stripes look wrong.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 5,000 ft of the approach.
Plan view — the first 5,000 ft of the 10,553 ft runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 513 ft touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with a taxiing period from the parking to the runway, which took 20 minutes and covered a distance of 4 nautical miles. The aircraft, a Cessna CJ4 Citation, then departed from runway 29 at PADQ Kodiak Airport in Kodiak, Alaska. The takeoff distance was 1,858 feet, which accounted for 42% of the runway. The liftoff speed was 138 knots.
The local weather conditions at the time of departure were characterized by a temperature of 44°F and a wind speed of 10 knots at 229 degrees. The crosswind component was 10 knots, while the headwind component was 2 knots. The aircraft climbed from 92 feet above sea level to 36,936 feet above sea level, an increase of 36,844 feet, in 15 minutes and covering a distance of 82 nautical miles.
After reaching the cruising altitude, the aircraft entered a level cruise phase, which lasted for 4 minutes and covered a distance of 35 nautical miles. This phase started 9 miles south of AK07 Dog Fish Bay Airport in Nanwalek, Alaska. The aircraft then began its descent from 36,415 feet above sea level to 2,958 feet above sea level, a decrease of 33,457 feet, in 18 minutes and covering a distance of 99 nautical miles.
The descent phase started overhead Kachemak City, Alaska. The aircraft then climbed from 2,935 feet above sea level to 5,511 feet above sea level, an increase of 2,576 feet, in 6 minutes and covering a distance of 18 nautical miles. This climb phase started 1 mile southwest of PANC Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport in Anchorage, Alaska.
The aircraft then entered another level cruise phase, which lasted for 7 minutes and covered a distance of 24 nautical miles. This phase started 2 miles north of 8AK6 Little Susitna Airport in Susitna Station, Alaska. The aircraft then began its descent from 5,532 feet above sea level to 4,250 feet above sea level, a decrease of 1,282 feet, in 2 minutes and covering a distance of 8 nautical miles.
The descent phase started 2 miles south of AK24 Hilltop Airport in Chugiak, Alaska. The aircraft then climbed from 4,249 feet above sea level to 6,601 feet above sea level, an increase of 2,352 feet, in 2 minutes and covering a distance of 6 nautical miles. This climb phase started 3 miles southeast of 47AK Highland Airport in Eagle River, Alaska.
The aircraft then began its final descent from 6,594 feet above sea level to 1,310 feet above sea level, a decrease of 5,284 feet, in 2 minutes and covering a distance of 9 nautical miles. This descent phase started 7 miles east of CSR Campbell Airstrip in Anchorage, Alaska.
The final approach to runway 25R at PANC Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport was made from the east, heading 270.0 degrees, at 4 nautical miles and 1,165 feet above ground level. The landing was made on runway 25R, which had a length of 10,553 feet. The threshold height was good, and the threshold speed was slightly below the target at 100 knots.
The touchdown distance was good at 512 feet, but the touchdown speed was a little fast at 100 knots. The touchdown rate was very hard at -511 feet per minute. The runway touchdown alignment was very good. The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of 36°F and a wind speed of 6 knots at 280 degrees. The crosswind component was 1 knot, while
The Cessna CJ4 Citation successfully landed at PANC Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport, achieving a score of 96.1%. The aircraft approached the runway from the east, heading 270.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,165 feet above ground level (agl). The final approach was executed with good control, and the aircraft landed safely on runway 25R, which has a length of 10,553 feet.
The threshold height was satisfactory, and the threshold speed was slightly below the target speed of 100 knots. The touchdown distance was within acceptable limits at 512 feet, but the touchdown speed was a bit higher than desired at 100 knots. The most concerning aspect of the landing was the very hard touchdown rate of -511 feet per minute (fpm), which may have caused some discomfort for the passengers.
Despite the hard touchdown, the runway touchdown alignment was very good, indicating that the pilot maintained control and alignment throughout the landing. The local weather conditions at the time of landing were favorable, with a temperature of 36°F and a gentle headwind of 6 knots from a direction of 280°. The crosswind component was minimal at 1 knot, which further contributed to the smooth landing.
The total landing distance of 3,163 feet was within 30% of the runway length, which is a reasonable margin. The runway rollout alignment was perfect, indicating that the pilot maintained control and alignment during the rollout phase of the landing. Overall, the landing was successful, and the pilot demonstrated good control and decision-making skills throughout the approach and landing phases.
