MY FS FLIGHTS
Flight Score
Work on the flare
Arrive slow and the sink rate at the threshold is already above schedule, the flare is short because there is no energy to extend it, and the touchdown is hard in a way that feels exactly like a late flare. Diagnosing a slow arrival as a late flare is the catastrophic misread: you respond by flaring earlier, which bleeds more speed, which makes the next one worse. The tiebreaker is threshold speed against VRef, not feel. Never diagnose a flare without it.

Two stabilised approach gates, each with five checks, where the approach path is 1,000 ft and 500 ft above the runway.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 1,980 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,980 m of the 2,795 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
Touched down 965 m past the threshold — beyond the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
Departing from London Heathrow Airport, the Airbus A380 began its journey on runway 09R, taking off with a distance of 1,262 meters, which accounted for 38% of the runway. The aircraft lifted off at a speed of 151 knots, with a local temperature of 12 degrees Celsius and a gentle headwind of 5 knots. As it departed the UK airspace, the enroute climb phase commenced approximately one mile north of Feltham, Greater London, where the aircraft ascended from 1,123 feet above sea level to 34,311 feet, a vertical increase of 33,188 feet, in just 15 minutes and covering a distance of 95 nautical miles.
The enroute level cruise phase started seven miles north of Grand-Fort-Philippe, Hauts-de-France, France, and lasted for 11 minutes, covering 86 nautical miles. The aircraft then began its descent over Drogenbos, Flanders, Belgium, where it descended from 34,373 feet to 5,431 feet, a decrease of 28,942 feet, in 28 minutes and covering 175 nautical miles. The enroute level cruise phase resumed one mile south of Wiesbaden, Hessen, Germany, lasting for five minutes and covering 18 nautical miles. The final descent phase started one mile northwest of Essenheim, Rheinland-Pfalz, Germany, where the aircraft descended from 4,899 feet to 1,665 feet in just five minutes and covering 11 nautical miles.
The Airbus A380 then began its final approach to runway 07L at Frankfurt Airport, flying from the southwest at a heading of 70.0 degrees, at 4 nautical miles and 1,314 feet above ground level. The aircraft landed on the runway, with a total landing distance of 1,850 meters, accounting for 66% of the runway. The touchdown point was 499 meters beyond the touchdown zone, with a touchdown speed of 132 knots, which was slightly above the target speed. The runway touchdown position was significantly misaligned from the centreline, and the runway rollout alignment was also misaligned. The aircraft then taxied to the parking area, covering a distance of 2 nautical miles in just one minute, and used a total of 14,396 kilograms of fuel for the 395-nautical-mile journey, which took approximately 69 minutes.
The final approach to runway 07L at EDDF Frankfurt Airport from the south west was initiated at 4 nm and 1,314 ft above ground level, heading 70.0°. The approach quality was satisfactory, with a threshold height of 84 ft above ground level, significantly above the target. The threshold speed of 135 kt was slightly above the target, indicating a slight increase in power application during the approach.
The aircraft touched down 499 m beyond the touchdown zone, with a touchdown speed of 132 kt, which was a little fast. The touchdown rate of -212 fpm was fair, indicating a controlled descent. However, the runway touchdown position was significantly misaligned by 27.8 m from the centreline, which may have contributed to the subsequent rollout alignment issues. The local weather conditions were calm, with a temperature of 14 °C, a wind of 2 kt at 100°, resulting in a 1 kt crosswind and a 2 kt headwind.
The total landing distance of 1,850 m was 66% of the runway length, indicating a relatively short landing distance. However, the runway rollout alignment was also misaligned by 25.3 m from the centreline, which may have been a result of the initial touchdown position. Overall, the landing performance scored 71.7%, indicating a satisfactory but not exceptional landing.
