Monitor your taxi speed
Twenty knots on a monitor produces the visual sensation of about ten. The advice to "taxi at a walking pace" cannot fix this, because your sense of walking pace is exactly the thing that's broken. Put the groundspeed readout in your scan and obey it for the next fifty flights, the way a student pilot leans on the airspeed indicator before learning to read attitude.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 1,216 m of the approach.
Plan view — the full 1,216 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
Touched down 530 m past the threshold — beyond the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with a taxiing period from the parking area to the runway, which took 6 minutes and covered a distance of 3 nautical miles. The aircraft, an SR22, then departed from runway 08 at the Billy Bishop Toronto City Centre Airport (CYTZ). The takeoff distance was 401 meters, which accounted for 33% of the runway length. The aircraft lifted off at a speed of 83 knots.
The local weather conditions at the time of takeoff were characterized by a temperature of 15 degrees Celsius and a wind speed of 6 knots from a direction of 270 degrees. This resulted in a crosswind of 2 knots and a tailwind of 6 knots. The aircraft then entered a level cruise, starting overhead the Toronto/City Centre Seaplane Base (CPZ9), which lasted less than 1 minute and covered a distance of less than 1 nautical mile.
The enroute climb began overhead CPZ9, during which the aircraft ascended from an altitude of 654 feet above sea level to 519 feet above sea level, an increase of 135 feet in 4 minutes, covering a distance of 1 nautical mile. The final approach to runway 08 at CYTZ was made from the west, heading 73.0 degrees at an altitude of 254 feet above ground level.
The landing on runway 08 was characterized by a threshold height that was slightly above the target, and a threshold speed that was well above the target at 88 knots. The touchdown point was 97 meters beyond the touchdown zone, with a touchdown speed of 72 knots and an excellent touchdown rate of -60 feet per minute. However, the runway touchdown position was misaligned by 8.5 meters from the centreline.
The total landing distance was 849 meters, which accounted for 70% of the runway length. The runway rollout alignment was also slightly misaligned by 11.6 meters from the centreline. The taxiing period from the runway to the parking area took less than 1 minute and covered a distance of less than 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 5 nautical miles, taking a total of 7 minutes, and the aircraft used 5 kilograms of fuel during the flight.
The aircraft in question, a SR22, successfully landed at the Billy Bishop Toronto City Centre Airport (CYTZ) on runway 08. The final approach was initiated from the west, heading 73.0° at an altitude of 254 feet above ground level (agl) and 0 nautical miles from the runway. The pilot's performance during the landing was evaluated, and the results showed a score of 87.7%.
The landing was conducted in a local weather condition with a temperature of 15°C, wind speed of 6 knots at 270°, resulting in a crosswind of 2 knots and a tailwind of 6 knots. The pilot's ability to manage the aircraft in these conditions was satisfactory, as the touchdown speed of 72 knots was within the acceptable range, and the touchdown rate of -60 feet per minute (fpm) was excellent.
However, there were some areas of improvement identified during the landing. The threshold height at 58 feet agl was slightly above the target, indicating that the pilot may have been slightly high on the approach. Additionally, the threshold speed of 88 knots was well above the target, suggesting that the pilot may have been applying too much power during the approach.
The touchdown point was 97 meters beyond the touchdown zone, which is a relatively long distance. This may be due to the pilot's decision to flare the aircraft too late or not aggressively enough. The runway touchdown position was also misaligned by 8.5 meters from the centreline, which could have been caused by a slight deviation in the pilot's alignment during the approach.
The total landing distance of 849 meters was 70% of the runway length, which is within the acceptable range. However, the runway rollout alignment was slightly misaligned by 11.6 meters from the centreline, indicating that the pilot may have been struggling to maintain alignment during the rollout phase.
Overall, the pilot's performance during the landing was satisfactory, but there were some areas of improvement identified. With further training and practice, the pilot should be able to refine their skills and achieve a higher score.
