Improve the rollout
A crosswind landing is a geometry problem. The air mass you're flying in is moving sideways across the runway, and you need your ground track down the centreline with your wheels aligned to it at the moment of contact. There are two techniques that will help, the crab and the sideslip.

Two stabilised approach gates, each with five checks, where the approach path is 1,000 ft and 500 ft above the runway.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 1,543 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,543 m of the 2,561 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 380 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
Departing from Bordeaux-Mérignac Airport, LFBD, the Airbus A320 began its journey down runway 29, accelerating to a liftoff speed of 143 kt after a takeoff distance of 1,391 m, which covered 58% of the available runway. The local weather conditions at the time of departure featured a temperature of 10 °C, with a gentle wind of 5 kt blowing from 29°, resulting in a slight tailwind component of 1 kt.
As the aircraft climbed to its cruising altitude, it began its enroute climb 1 mile east of Martignas-sur-Jalle, ascending from 1,184 ft to 33,019 ft in 18 minutes, covering a distance of 112 nm. The climb phase was followed by an 18-minute level cruise, during which the aircraft flew at a steady altitude, covering an additional 135 nm. The enroute descent phase commenced 6 miles east of Saintes-Maries-de-la-Mer, with the aircraft descending from 32,994 ft to 1,331 ft in 24 minutes, covering 124 nm. The final approach to runway 04L at Nice-Côte d'Azur Airport, LFMN, was initiated from the southwest, with the aircraft aligning perfectly with the runway.
The Airbus A320 touched down on runway 04L at a speed of 137 kt, which was slightly above the recommended threshold speed of 140 kt. The touchdown distance of 379 m was within acceptable limits, and the runway touchdown alignment was perfect. The aircraft taxied to the parking area, covering a distance of 1 nm in 6 minutes. The total flight distance of 379 nm was completed in 73 minutes, with the aircraft consuming 2,826 kg of fuel. The landing distance of 1,464 m, which covered 57% of the available runway, was also within acceptable limits, and the runway rollout alignment was very good.
The aircraft touched down on runway 04L at LFMN Nice-Côte d'Azur Airport with a firm touchdown rate of -303 fpm, slightly above the optimal range. The touchdown speed of 137 kt was a little fast, but the threshold speed of 140 kt was well managed, indicating a good approach configuration. The touchdown distance of 379 m was within the acceptable range, and the aircraft maintained perfect runway touchdown alignment.
The approach quality was excellent, with a good threshold height and a smooth transition to the runway. The aircraft's centreline alignment during the rollout phase was very good, demonstrating precise control and coordination. The total landing distance of 1,464 m, which accounted for 57% of the runway length, was within the acceptable range. The local weather conditions, with a temperature of 12 °C and a gentle headwind of 2 kt, contributed to a stable and predictable approach.
The overall performance of the landing was impressive, with a score of 98.2%. The crew's ability to manage the aircraft's speed and alignment during the approach and rollout phases was commendable. The landing was a testament to the crew's skill and experience, and it set a high standard for future landings at LFMN Nice-Côte d'Azur Airport.
