MY FS FLIGHTS
Flight Score
Work on the flare
Arrive slow and the sink rate at the threshold is already above schedule, the flare is short because there is no energy to extend it, and the touchdown is hard in a way that feels exactly like a late flare. Diagnosing a slow arrival as a late flare is the catastrophic misread: you respond by flaring earlier, which bleeds more speed, which makes the next one worse. The tiebreaker is threshold speed against VRef, not feel. Never diagnose a flare without it.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 5,000 ft of the approach.
Plan view — the first 5,000 ft of the 9,936 ft runway, to the same scale as the side view.
Touched down 2,077 ft past the threshold — beyond the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with a taxiing period from the parking to the runway, which took 19 minutes and covered a distance of 2 nautical miles. The aircraft, a Boeing 737-700, then departed from runway 09 at Simón Bolívar International Airport (SVMI) in Caracas, Venezuela. The takeoff distance was 1,977 feet, which accounted for 21% of the runway. The aircraft lifted off at a speed of 132 knots.
The local weather conditions at the time of departure were characterized by a temperature of 82 degrees Fahrenheit and a wind speed of 5 knots at a direction of 46 degrees. This resulted in a crosswind of 2 knots and a headwind of 4 knots. The aircraft climbed to a height of 22,987 feet above sea level, an increase of 21,742 feet from the initial altitude of 1,245 feet, in just 9 minutes and covering a distance of 43 nautical miles.
The enroute climb phase started over Simón Bolívar International Airport, and the aircraft then entered a level cruise phase 13 miles northeast of Guatire Airport (SVJT). This cruise phase lasted for 23 minutes and covered a distance of 128 nautical miles. The aircraft then began its descent 8 miles west of Del Caribe Santiago Mariño International Airport (SVMG) on Isla Margarita, Venezuela, and descended from 22,536 feet to 5,014 feet in 18 minutes and covering 12 nautical miles.
The aircraft then entered another level cruise phase 3 miles southwest of Juan Griego, Venezuela, which lasted for 2 minutes and covered 7 nautical miles. The descent phase started 11 miles southwest of Juan Griego, and the aircraft descended from 5,021 feet to 2,212 feet in 4 minutes and covering 16 nautical miles. The aircraft then entered another level cruise phase 24 miles west of Andrés Miguel Salazar Marcano Airport (SVIE) on Isla de Coche, Venezuela, which lasted for 5 minutes and covered 20 nautical miles.
The final approach to runway 09 at Del Caribe Santiago Mariño International Airport was made from the west, with the aircraft heading at 78.0 degrees at an altitude of 1,359 feet above ground level and 4 nautical miles from the runway. The landing was made on runway 09, which had a length of 9,936 feet. The threshold height was above the target, and the threshold speed was slightly above the target at 112 knots.
The touchdown point was 686 feet beyond the touchdown zone, and the touchdown speed was 104 knots, which was a little fast. The touchdown rate was fair at -243 feet per minute, and the runway touchdown alignment was very good. The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of 78 degrees Fahrenheit and a wind speed of 5 knots at a direction of 66 degrees, resulting in a crosswind of 1 knot and a headwind of 5 knots.
The total landing distance was 3,022 feet, which accounted for 30% of the runway. The runway rollout alignment was very good. The taxiing period from the runway to the parking took 2 minutes and covered less than 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 233 nautical miles, and the flight duration was 76 minutes. The aircraft used 5,179 pounds of fuel during the flight.
The Boeing 737-700 aircraft successfully landed at Del Caribe Santiago Mariño International Airport, achieving a score of 90.9%. The final approach to runway 09 was initiated from the west, with a heading of 78.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,359 feet above ground level (agl).
Upon landing, the aircraft touched down 686 feet beyond the designated touchdown zone, which is slightly outside the target area. The touchdown speed of 104 knots was a bit faster than the target speed, indicating that the pilot may have needed to apply more braking force to bring the aircraft to a stop. However, the touchdown rate of -243 feet per minute (fpm) was considered fair, suggesting that the pilot was able to manage the descent effectively.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were favorable, with a temperature of 78°F and a gentle headwind of 5 knots. The crosswind component was minimal, at 1 knot, which made the landing process relatively straightforward. The runway touchdown alignment was very good, indicating that the pilot was able to maintain a stable and aligned approach to the runway.
The total landing distance of 3,022 feet was 30% of the runway length, which is a relatively short distance considering the aircraft's size and weight. The runway rollout alignment was also very good, suggesting that the pilot was able to maintain control of the aircraft during the rollout phase and bring it to a stop safely.
Overall, the landing was considered successful, with the pilot demonstrating good control and management of the aircraft during the approach and landing phases. However, there were some minor deviations from the target parameters, such as the touchdown speed and distance beyond the touchdown zone, which may indicate areas for improvement in the pilot's technique.
