Improve the pattern downwind leg
Spacing cues are relative to your eyepoint, so two simmers with different FOV settings following the same wingtip cue fly patterns half a mile different in width, and a wide FOV compresses depth so the runway on base looks further away than it is, biasing you towards a late turn. Pick a camera position and FOV, save it, and never change it, because every judgement you calibrate is calibrated to that picture.

One stabilised approach gate for a circuit: six checks at the point nearest 500 ft above the runway after the base turn. The 1,000 ft gate is an instrument-approach check and does not apply.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 2,492 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
Touched down 655 m past the threshold — beyond the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
Departing from Groningen Airport Eelde, the TBM 850 aircraft began its takeoff roll on runway 23, accelerating to a liftoff speed of 79 kt within 580 meters, which accounted for 23% of the runway's length. The local weather conditions were favorable, with a temperature of 15 °C and a negligible headwind of 1 kt from 270°.
As the aircraft entered the right-hand traffic pattern, it demonstrated a swift and precise turn, completing the maneuver in less than 1 nm in 18 seconds. The subsequent downwind turn, with an angle of 71.7° to the runway, covered a distance of 3 nm. The final approach to runway 05, which was 2,492 meters long, was executed from the southwest, with the aircraft maintaining a heading of 51.0° at an altitude of 197 ft above ground level (agl). The landing was successful, with a touchdown speed of 69 kt and a rate of -48 fpm, which was within the desired parameters.
The touchdown point was located 219 meters beyond the touchdown zone, and the runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned by 4.0 meters from the centerline. The total landing distance was 1,178 meters, accounting for 47% of the runway's length. The aircraft's performance during the rollout was commendable, with a very good alignment. The total flight distance was 12 nm, and the aircraft consumed 377 kg of fuel, completing the flight in 7 minutes.
The final approach to runway 05 at EHGG Groningen Airport Eelde from the south west was conducted with a heading of 51.0° at 0 nm and 197 ft above ground level. The approach quality was satisfactory, with the threshold height at 56 ft agl being slightly above the target. However, the threshold speed was good at 85 kt, indicating a well-executed approach.
The aircraft touched down 219 m beyond the touchdown zone at a speed of 69 kt, which was within the acceptable range. The touchdown rate of -48 fpm was perfect, demonstrating excellent control and precision. Although the runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned by 4.0 m from the centreline, the overall touchdown characteristics were good. The local weather conditions, with a temperature of 16 °C and a wind of 1 kt at 269°, contributed to a relatively calm and stable environment.
The total landing distance of 1,178 m, which accounted for 47% of the runway length, was within the acceptable range. The runway rollout alignment was very good, indicating a smooth and controlled deceleration. Overall, the landing was scored 96.8%, reflecting a high level of proficiency and adherence to standard operating procedures.
