MY FS FLIGHTS
Flight Score
Slow down before tight turns
Twenty knots on a monitor produces the visual sensation of about ten. The advice to "taxi at a walking pace" cannot fix this, because your sense of walking pace is exactly the thing that's broken. Put the groundspeed readout in your scan and obey it for the next fifty flights, the way a student pilot leans on the airspeed indicator before learning to read attitude.

Two stabilised approach gates, each with five checks, where the approach path is 1,000 ft and 500 ft above the runway.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 3,021 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 433 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
Departing Winnipeg / James Armstrong Richardson International Airport, the Boeing 737-MAX8 began its journey on runway 31, taking 6 minutes to taxi to the runway and covering a distance of 1 nautical mile. With a takeoff distance of 1,284 meters, which accounted for 48% of the runway, the aircraft lifted off at a speed of 156 knots. The local weather conditions at the time of departure were characterized by a temperature of 15°C, a wind speed of 20 knots from 339°, resulting in a 7-knot crosswind and an 18-knot headwind.
As the aircraft climbed to its cruising altitude, it began its enroute climb from 1,825 feet above sea level to 38,003 feet, an increase of 36,178 feet in 13 minutes, covering a distance of 132 nautical miles. The enroute level cruise phase followed, lasting 54 minutes and covering 743 nautical miles, before the aircraft started its enroute descent from 37,047 feet to 1,177 feet, a decrease of 35,869 feet in 15 minutes, covering 133 nautical miles. The final approach to runway 26R at Vancouver International Airport was initiated from the east, with the aircraft maintaining a heading of 280.0° at 4 nautical miles and 1,147 feet above ground level.
The Boeing 737-MAX8 landed on runway 26R, with a touchdown distance of 221 meters, slightly above the target threshold speed of 150 knots. The touchdown speed of 147 knots was a little fast, while the touchdown rate of -257 feet per minute was fair. The runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned by 4.7 meters from the centerline. The total landing distance was 1,075 meters, accounting for 38% of the runway. Following a taxiing time of 3 minutes and a distance of less than 1 nautical mile, the aircraft arrived at the parking area, having completed a total flight distance of 1,016 nautical miles, using 5,302 kilograms of fuel in the process, and taking a total of 91 minutes to complete the journey.
The Boeing 737-MAX8 touched down on runway 26R at CYVR Vancouver International Airport with a good threshold height, allowing the crew to maintain a stable approach. However, the threshold speed was slightly above the target at 150 kt, indicating a slight deviation from the ideal approach speed. The aircraft's descent was controlled, with a touchdown distance of 221 m, which was within acceptable limits.
Upon touchdown, the aircraft's speed was a little fast at 147 kt, and the touchdown rate was fair at -257 fpm. The runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned by 4.7 m from the centreline, which may have been due to the slight crosswind component of 4 kt. Despite this, the crew maintained control of the aircraft, and the touchdown was generally smooth. The local weather conditions, with a temperature of 21 °C and a headwind of 11 kt, contributed to the overall performance of the approach.
The total landing distance of 1,075 m was 38% of the runway length, which is within the acceptable range. The runway rollout alignment was very good, indicating that the crew maintained control of the aircraft during the critical phase of the landing. Overall, the landing was scored 98.8%, reflecting a high level of proficiency and control demonstrated by the crew.
