Improve the pattern downwind leg
Spacing cues are relative to your eyepoint, so two simmers with different FOV settings following the same wingtip cue fly patterns half a mile different in width, and a wide FOV compresses depth so the runway on base looks further away than it is, biasing you towards a late turn. Pick a camera position and FOV, save it, and never change it, because every judgement you calibrate is calibrated to that picture.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate for a circuit: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate is an instrument-approach check and does not apply.

Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 1,860 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 379 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with a departure roll from runway 28 at Blackpool International Airport, EGNH. The Beechcraft A36 Bonanza took off with a takeoff distance of 345 meters, which accounted for 19% of the runway. The liftoff speed was 89 knots, and the aircraft was able to lift off the ground quickly.
As the aircraft entered the local area, it followed a left-hand pattern entry from runway 28. The distance covered during this phase was less than 1 nautical mile in 26 seconds. The left-hand pattern crosswind leg was also flown, with a distance of less than 1 nautical mile covered in 17 seconds.
The aircraft then proceeded to the downwind turn, which had a distance of 2 nautical miles. The angle to the runway was 99.0 degrees, and the turn was completed in a smooth manner. The downwind leg itself had a distance of 2 nautical miles, which was covered in 49 seconds.
The base leg turn was the next phase, with a distance of 2 nautical miles and an angle to the runway of 32.7 degrees. The base leg had a distance of less than 1 nautical mile, which was covered in 23 seconds. The final turn was completed in 35 seconds, with a distance of less than 1 nautical mile.
The final approach to runway 28 was made from the east, with a heading of 274.0 degrees at 1 nautical mile and 301 feet above ground level. The landing was smooth, with a touchdown speed of 60 knots and a touchdown distance of 378 meters. The touchdown rate was perfect at -47 feet per minute, and the runway touchdown alignment was also perfect.
The local weather conditions during the landing were a temperature of 15 degrees Celsius and a wind of 2 knots at 270 degrees. The crosswind was 0 knots, and the headwind was 2 knots. The total landing distance was 657 meters, which accounted for 35% of the runway. The runway rollout alignment was also perfect.
The total flight distance was 8 nautical miles, which was covered in 5 minutes. The aircraft used 3 kilograms of fuel during the flight. Overall, the flight was smooth and controlled, with a good landing and a perfect runway touchdown alignment.
The Beechcraft A36 Bonanza successfully landed at EGNH Blackpool International Airport, achieving a score of 99.5%. The aircraft approached the runway from the east, heading 274.0° at 1 nautical mile and 301 feet above ground level (agl). The pilot executed a precise final approach, taking into account the local weather conditions.
The temperature at the time of landing was 15°C, with a wind speed of 2 knots from 270°. This resulted in a negligible crosswind component of 0 knots and a headwind of 2 knots, which had a minimal impact on the landing. The aircraft's speed during the final approach was slightly above the target threshold speed, reaching 82 knots.
Upon touchdown, the Beechcraft A36 Bonanza demonstrated excellent performance, with a touchdown distance of 378 meters and a speed of 60 knots. The touchdown rate was also perfect, at -47 feet per minute (fpm). The runway touchdown alignment was spot on, indicating that the pilot had maintained precise control throughout the landing.
The total landing distance of 657 meters was 35% of the runway length, which is a relatively short distance considering the aircraft's size and weight. This suggests that the pilot had executed a smooth and controlled landing, with minimal drag and no excessive braking. The runway rollout alignment was also perfect, indicating that the pilot had maintained control and stability throughout the landing roll.
Overall, the Beechcraft A36 Bonanza's landing at EGNH Blackpool International Airport was a textbook example of precision flying, with the pilot demonstrating exceptional skill and control throughout the approach and landing phases.
