Improve the taxi
Twenty knots on a monitor produces the visual sensation of about ten. The advice to "taxi at a walking pace" cannot fix this, because your sense of walking pace is exactly the thing that's broken. Put the groundspeed readout in your scan and obey it for the next fifty flights, the way a student pilot leans on the airspeed indicator before learning to read attitude.

Two stabilised approach gates, each with five checks, where the approach path is 1,000 ft and 500 ft above the runway.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 2,847 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 448 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The Airbus A320 took off from runway 06L at LEBL Josep Tarradellas Barcelona-El Prat Airport, covering a takeoff distance of 1,772 meters, 61% of the runway's length. With a liftoff speed of 160 knots, the aircraft began its ascent. The local weather at the time of departure was characterized by a temperature of 12°C, with a wind of 13 knots at 349 degrees.
As the aircraft climbed, the local weather began to change, with the wind picking up to 12 knots as a crosswind and 3 knots as a headwind. The aircraft continued on its route, en route climb starting 1 mile south east of El Prat de Llobregat, a region in Catalunya, Spain. The climb from 1,010 feet above sea level to 34,924 feet above sea level took 20 minutes and covered a distance of 100 nautical miles.
The en route level cruise started 4 miles east of Massat, a region in Occitanie, France, and lasted for 81 minutes, covering a distance of 481 nautical miles. This was followed by an en route descent from 34,437 feet above sea level to 9,468 feet above sea level, a decrease of 24,969 feet in 14 minutes and covering a distance of 91 nautical miles.
The aircraft then entered another en route level cruise, this time starting 6 miles north west of Katwijk aan Zee, a region in the Provincie Zuid-Holland, The Netherlands. This cruise lasted for 2 minutes and covered a distance of 8 nautical miles. The aircraft then began its descent from 9,469 feet above sea level to 1,299 feet above sea level, a decrease of 8,170 feet in 7 minutes and covering a distance of 13 nautical miles.
The final approach to runway 18C at EHAM Amsterdam Airport Schiphol was initiated, with the aircraft approaching from the north and heading at 183 degrees. The local weather at the time of landing was characterized by a temperature of 3°C, with a wind of 11 knots at 160 degrees.
The aircraft landed on runway 18C, with a touchdown distance of 450 meters and a touchdown speed of 137 knots. The touchdown rate was smooth at -140 feet per minute, and the runway touchdown alignment was perfect. The total landing distance was 1,426 meters, 50% of the runway's length.
The runway rollout alignment was very good, and the aircraft taxiing to the parking from the runway took 10 minutes and covered a distance of 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 704 nautical miles, taking 147 minutes, and the aircraft used 5,547 kilograms of fuel during the flight..
The Airbus A320 successfully landed on runway 18C at EHAM Amsterdam Airport Schiphol, achieving a score of 99.2%. The aircraft was approaching the runway from the north, heading 183.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,285 feet above ground level (agl). The pilot's final approach was precise, with a good threshold height and a slightly above-target threshold speed of 141 knots.
Upon touchdown, the aircraft's performance was satisfactory, with a touchdown distance of 450 meters, which is considered good. However, the touchdown speed of 137 knots was a little fast, indicating that the pilot may have needed to apply more braking or reverse thrust to slow down the aircraft. The touchdown rate was smooth at -140 feet per minute (fpm), which is a desirable outcome as it minimizes the impact on the aircraft's landing gear and the runway surface.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of 3°C and a wind speed of 11 knots from 160°. The crosswind component was 4 knots, while the headwind component was 10 knots. These conditions presented a moderate challenge for the pilot, but they were able to manage the aircraft's descent and touchdown successfully.
The total landing distance of 1,426 meters was 50% of the runway length, which is a reasonable outcome given the aircraft's size and weight. The runway rollout alignment was very good, indicating that the pilot was able to maintain control of the aircraft during the rollout phase and bring it to a stop safely. Overall, the landing was a success, with the pilot demonstrating good skills and judgment in managing the aircraft's descent and touchdown.
