Maintain the centreline
A small uncorrected heading error at 40 knots becomes a metre of offset per second by 100 knots, noticed only at rotation, producing a crabbed liftoff. Root cause is nearly always eyes on the tape instead of the far end of the runway. Small heading changes displace a distant point visibly long before the nearby centreline stripes look wrong.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 5,000 ft of the approach.
Plan view — the first 5,000 ft of the 10,553 ft runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 1,411 ft touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with a taxiing period from the parking to the runway, which took 5 minutes and covered a distance of 1 nautical mile. The aircraft, a Cessna CJ4 Citation, then departed from runway 26 at PADQ Kodiak Airport in Alaska, United States. The takeoff distance was 1,468 feet, which accounted for 23% of the runway length. The liftoff speed was 124 knots.
As the aircraft took off, it encountered local weather conditions with a temperature of 62°F and a wind speed of 1 knot from 270°. The crosswind was negligible, and the aircraft experienced a headwind of 1 knot. The enroute climb started overhead PADQ Kodiak Airport, where the aircraft climbed from an altitude of 1,120 feet above sea level to 38,003 feet above sea level, an increase of 36,882 feet in 16 minutes and covering a distance of 80 nautical miles.
The enroute level cruise began 13 miles southwest of AK07 Dog Fish Bay Airport Nanwalek, Alaska, and lasted for 14 minutes, covering a distance of 96 nautical miles. The aircraft then started its enroute descent overhead 04AA Flying W Ranch Airport Soldotna, Alaska, descending from 37,996 feet above sea level to 2,104 feet above sea level, a decrease of 35,892 feet in 10 minutes and covering a distance of 37 nautical miles.
The enroute level cruise resumed 11 miles east of PABG Beluga Airport Beluga, Alaska, and lasted for 5 minutes, covering a distance of 15 nautical miles. The final approach to runway 07L at PANC Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport was made from the west, heading 86.0° at 3 nautical miles and 1,653 feet above ground level.
The landing on runway 07L was successful, with a touchdown point 335 feet beyond the touchdown zone. The touchdown speed was 82 knots, which was good, and the touchdown rate was fair at -225 feet per minute. The runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned by 15 feet from the centerline. The local weather conditions at the time of landing were a temperature of 59°F and a wind speed of 1 knot from 269°, with a negligible crosswind and a tailwind of 1 knot.
The total landing distance was 2,313 feet, which accounted for 22% of the runway length. The runway rollout alignment was perfect. The taxiing period from the runway to the parking took 5 minutes and covered a distance of 2 nautical miles. The total flight distance was 235 nautical miles, and the flight duration was 62 minutes, using 1,188 pounds of fuel.
The Cessna CJ4 Citation successfully landed at PANC Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport, achieving a score of 95.2%. The aircraft approached the runway from the west, heading 86.0° at 3 nautical miles and 1,653 feet above ground level (agl). The final approach was executed with good control, as indicated by the satisfactory threshold height and speed of 93 knots.
Upon touchdown, the aircraft landed 335 feet beyond the touchdown zone, which is slightly beyond the ideal position. However, the touchdown speed of 82 knots was within the acceptable range, indicating a controlled descent. The touchdown rate of -225 feet per minute (fpm) was fair, suggesting that the aircraft could have maintained a more gradual descent.
The runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned by 15 feet from the centerline, which may have been due to factors such as wind or pilot error. Nevertheless, the local weather conditions were favorable, with a temperature of 59°F and a gentle wind of 1 knot at 269°. The crosswind component was negligible, and the tailwind was minimal at 1 knot.
The total landing distance of 2,313 feet was 22% of the runway length, which is a relatively short distance considering the aircraft's size and weight. The runway rollout alignment was perfect, indicating that the aircraft maintained its direction and speed during the rollout phase. Overall, the landing was successful, and the aircraft demonstrated good control and stability throughout the approach and touchdown phases.
