Flight Score
Smooth the climb
A good takeoff has a defined shape. It also has a defined end. For an airliner that's thrust reduction and acceleration, commonly somewhere around 1,000 to 1,500 ft above the airfield depending on the operator, while for a light aircraft it's established at Vy with the flaps on schedule. Most simmers have no defined end to their takeoff, which is exactly why it never gets judged.

Two stabilised approach gates, each with six checks at 1,000 ft and 500 ft above the runway.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 787 m of the approach.
Plan view — the full 787 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 105 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with a departure roll from runway 34 at PASO Seldovia Airport, where the aircraft, a PA28 Warrior II, successfully took off after covering 265 meters, which is 34% of the runway. The liftoff speed was 74 knots, and the local weather conditions at the time were characterized by a temperature of 16 degrees Celsius and a gentle wind of 2 knots blowing from the northwest.
As the aircraft climbed away from the airport, it began its enroute climb, which started overhead Seldovia, Alaska. The climb was steep, with the aircraft rising from an altitude of 258 feet above sea level to 574 feet in just 1 minute, covering a distance of less than 1 nautical mile. This impressive climb rate allowed the aircraft to quickly gain altitude and establish itself in the surrounding airspace.
After reaching its cruising altitude, the aircraft began its enroute descent, which also started overhead Seldovia. The descent was equally impressive, with the aircraft dropping from 571 feet to 39 feet in just 2 minutes, covering a distance of 1 nautical mile. This controlled descent allowed the aircraft to maintain a safe and stable approach to the airport.
The final approach to runway 34 at PASO Seldovia Airport was made from the south, with the aircraft flying at a heading of 10.0 degrees and an altitude of 13 feet above ground level. The landing was smooth, with the aircraft touching down on the runway at a speed of 57 knots and a distance of 102 meters. The touchdown rate was also good, at -165 feet per minute, and the runway touchdown alignment was very good.
The total landing distance was 444 meters, which is 56% of the runway length. The runway rollout alignment was also very good, indicating that the pilot had maintained control of the aircraft throughout the landing process. The local weather conditions at the time of landing were similar to those at departure, with a temperature of 15 degrees Celsius and a gentle wind of 2 knots blowing from the northwest.
In terms of fuel consumption, the flight used a total of 1 kilogram of fuel, which is a relatively small amount considering the flight distance of 2 nautical miles. The total flight time was 4 minutes, indicating that the flight was short and efficient. Overall, the flight was a success, with the pilot demonstrating excellent flying skills and control of the aircraft throughout the flight.
The PA28 Warrior II aircraft successfully landed at PASO Seldovia Airport, achieving a high score of 96.5%. The final approach was conducted from the south, heading 10.0° at 0 nm and 13 ft above ground level (agl). This indicates a precise and controlled descent onto the runway.
Upon landing, the aircraft touched down on runway 34, which has a length of 787 meters. The threshold height was satisfactory, and the threshold speed was slightly below the target at 61 knots. This suggests that the pilot may have been able to maintain a slightly higher speed than desired, but still managed to control the aircraft effectively.
The touchdown distance of 102 meters was good, indicating that the pilot was able to maintain a stable approach and touchdown. The touchdown speed of 57 knots was also within acceptable limits, and the touchdown rate of -165 feet per minute (fpm) was good, suggesting a smooth and controlled touchdown.
The runway touchdown alignment was very good, indicating that the pilot was able to maintain a precise alignment with the runway during the final stages of the approach. The local weather conditions at the time of the landing were favorable, with a temperature of 15°C and a wind speed of 2 knots at 269°. This resulted in a negligible crosswind component of 2 knots and a headwind of 0 knots.
The total landing distance of 444 meters was 56% of the runway length, which is a reasonable distance considering the aircraft's size and the runway's length. The runway rollout alignment was also very good, indicating that the pilot was able to maintain control of the aircraft during the rollout phase and bring it to a stop safely.
Overall, the landing was a success, with the pilot demonstrating good control and precision throughout the approach and touchdown phases. The high score of 96.5% reflects the pilot's skill and experience in landing the PA28 Warrior II at PASO Seldovia Airport.
