Slow down before tight turns
Twenty knots on a monitor produces the visual sensation of about ten. The advice to "taxi at a walking pace" cannot fix this, because your sense of walking pace is exactly the thing that's broken. Put the groundspeed readout in your scan and obey it for the next fifty flights, the way a student pilot leans on the airspeed indicator before learning to read attitude.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 1,459 m of the approach.
Plan view — the full 1,459 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 442 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with the aircraft, an Airbus A319, taxiing from its parking spot to the runway at Hartsfield Jackson Atlanta International Airport, taking 7 minutes to cover a distance of 2 nautical miles. Upon reaching the runway, the aircraft departed from runway 09L, with a takeoff distance of 1,608 meters, which accounted for 44% of the runway. The liftoff speed was 165 knots.
As the aircraft took off, it encountered local weather conditions of 10 degrees Celsius and a wind speed of 10 knots at 111 degrees. The crosswind was 4 knots, while the headwind was 9 knots. After departing from Atlanta, the aircraft began its enroute climb, which started overhead the airport and took the aircraft up to an altitude of 37,258 feet above sea level. This climb, which covered a distance of 115 nautical miles, took 14 minutes and involved an increase of 35,197 feet in altitude.
Following the climb, the aircraft entered a level cruise, which lasted for 23 minutes and covered a distance of 317 nautical miles. This cruise phase took place 3 miles southwest of Sasser, Georgia. After the cruise, the aircraft began its enroute descent, which started 11 miles west of the Salty Approach Airport in Fort Myers, Florida. The descent took the aircraft down from an altitude of 37,185 feet to 1,272 feet above sea level, covering a distance of 130 nautical miles in the process. This descent took 16 minutes.
As the aircraft approached its destination, it began its final approach to runway 09 at Key West International Airport. The approach was made from the west, with the aircraft heading at 90 degrees and being 4 nautical miles away from the runway. The aircraft was at an altitude of 1,261 feet above ground level at this point. The landing was made on the runway, which had a length of 1,459 meters. The threshold height was good, and the threshold speed was slightly below the target speed of 128 knots.
The touchdown distance was good, at 442 meters, and the touchdown speed was also good, at 119 knots. However, the touchdown rate was hard, at -426 feet per minute. The runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned from the centerline, by 6.6 meters. The local weather conditions at the time of landing were 24 degrees Celsius and a wind speed of 8 knots at 150 degrees. The crosswind was 7 knots, while the headwind was 4 knots.
The total landing distance was 1,001 meters, which accounted for 69% of the runway. The runway rollout alignment was very good. After landing, the aircraft taxied to its parking spot, taking 1 minute to cover a distance of less than 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 569 nautical miles, and the flight took 61 minutes to complete. The aircraft used 3,610 kilograms of fuel during the flight.
The Airbus A319 successfully landed at Key West International Airport (KEYW) with a score of 95.2%. The aircraft approached the runway from the west, heading 90.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,261 feet above ground level (agl). The final approach was made to runway 09, which has a length of 1,459 meters.
Upon landing, the aircraft touched down with a speed of 128 knots, which was slightly below the target threshold speed. However, the touchdown distance of 442 meters was considered good, indicating a smooth and controlled descent. The touchdown speed of 119 knots was also within acceptable limits, further emphasizing the pilot's skill in managing the aircraft's descent.
Despite the good touchdown speed, the touchdown rate was reported as hard, with a rate of -426 feet per minute (fpm). This may indicate that the aircraft touched down with a slightly higher than ideal rate, which could be a result of the pilot's decision to prioritize a smooth touchdown over a more controlled rate of descent.
The runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned from the centerline by 6.6 meters, which may have been a result of the crosswind component of 7 knots. However, the local weather conditions, with a temperature of 24°C and a wind speed of 8 knots at 150°, were not particularly challenging.
The total landing distance of 1,001 meters was 69% of the runway length, which is a relatively short distance considering the aircraft's size and weight. The runway rollout alignment was reported as very good, indicating that the pilot maintained control of the aircraft during the rollout phase and avoided any deviations from the centerline.
Overall, the landing was considered successful, with the aircraft touching down smoothly and the pilot maintaining control throughout the rollout phase. However, the hard touchdown rate and slight misalignment from the centerline may indicate areas for improvement in the pilot's technique.
