MY FS FLIGHTS
Flight Score
Work on the flare
Arrive slow and the sink rate at the threshold is already above schedule, the flare is short because there is no energy to extend it, and the touchdown is hard in a way that feels exactly like a late flare. Diagnosing a slow arrival as a late flare is the catastrophic misread: you respond by flaring earlier, which bleeds more speed, which makes the next one worse. The tiebreaker is threshold speed against VRef, not feel. Never diagnose a flare without it.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 5,000 ft of the approach.
Plan view — the first 5,000 ft of the 5,683 ft runway, to the same scale as the side view.
Touched down 2,147 ft past the threshold — beyond the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with the Vision Jet taxiing from the parking area to the runway at LSPN Triengen Airfield, a process that took 2 minutes and covered less than 1 nautical mile. The aircraft then departed from runway 33, with a takeoff distance of 1,611 feet, which was 116% of the runway length. The liftoff speed was 87 knots.
The local weather conditions at the time of departure were characterized by a temperature of 31°F and a wind speed of 2 knots from a direction of 276°. This resulted in a crosswind of 2 knots and a headwind of 1 knot. The aircraft then began its enroute climb, starting overhead the town of Winikon in the Kanton Luzern, Switzerland. During this climb, the aircraft ascended from an altitude of 2,504 feet above sea level to 13,782 feet, an increase of 11,277 feet, in 12 minutes and covering a distance of 41 nautical miles.
The enroute level cruise started 1 mile south west of Glarus in the Kanton Glarus, Switzerland, and lasted for 4 minutes, covering a distance of 19 nautical miles. The aircraft then began another enroute climb, this time starting 1 mile west of Untervaz in the Kanton Graubunden, Switzerland. During this climb, the aircraft ascended from an altitude of 13,766 feet to 15,446 feet, an increase of 1,680 feet, in 4 minutes and covering a distance of 16 nautical miles.
The enroute level cruise started 1 mile south west of Davos in the Kanton Graubunden, Switzerland, and lasted for 6 minutes, covering a distance of 22 nautical miles. The aircraft then began its enroute descent, starting 6 miles east of Madesimo in Lombardia, Italy. During this descent, the aircraft descended from an altitude of 15,796 feet to 8,014 feet, a decrease of 7,782 feet, in 11 minutes and covering a distance of 13 nautical miles.
The final approach to runway 03 at LSZS Samedan Airport was made from the south west, with a heading of 38.0° at a distance of 3 nautical miles and an altitude of 2,401 feet above ground level. The landing was made on runway 03, which had a length of 5,683 feet. The threshold height at 92 feet above ground level was significantly above the target, but the threshold speed was good at 99 knots.
The touchdown point was 602 feet beyond the touchdown zone, with a touchdown speed of 78 knots, which was good. The touchdown rate was fair at -208 feet per minute. The runway touchdown alignment was very good. The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of 32°F and a wind speed of 0 knots from a direction of 44°, resulting in no crosswind or headwind.
The total landing distance was 2,490 feet, which was 44% of the runway length. The runway rollout alignment was perfect. The aircraft then taxied to the parking area from the runway, a process that took less than 1 minute and covered less than 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 116 nautical miles, and the flight duration was 47 minutes. The aircraft used 381 pounds of fuel during the flight.
The Vision Jet aircraft successfully landed at LSZS Samedan Airport, achieving a score of 82.6%. The final approach to runway 03 was initiated from the southwest, heading 38.0° at a distance of 3 nautical miles and an altitude of 2,401 feet above ground level (agl).
Upon landing, the aircraft touched down on the runway, with the threshold height being significantly above the target. However, the threshold speed was satisfactory at 99 knots, indicating a controlled descent. The touchdown point was located 602 feet beyond the touchdown zone, which is a relatively safe distance. The touchdown speed of 78 knots was also within acceptable limits, demonstrating a smooth landing.
The touchdown rate of -208 feet per minute (fpm) was considered fair, suggesting that the aircraft could have been brought down more gently. Nevertheless, the runway touchdown alignment was very good, indicating that the aircraft was properly aligned with the runway.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of 32°F and a wind speed of 0 knots from a direction of 44°. This resulted in a crosswind and headwind of 0 knots, making the landing conditions relatively calm.
The total landing distance of 2,490 feet was 44% of the runway length, which is a reasonable distance considering the aircraft's size and weight. The runway rollout alignment was perfect, indicating that the aircraft was properly aligned with the runway during the rollout phase.
Overall, the landing was successful, with the Vision Jet aircraft demonstrating a good level of control and precision. However, there is room for improvement in terms of touchdown rate and threshold height.
