Monitor your taxi speed
Twenty knots on a monitor produces the visual sensation of about ten. The advice to "taxi at a walking pace" cannot fix this, because your sense of walking pace is exactly the thing that's broken. Put the groundspeed readout in your scan and obey it for the next fifty flights, the way a student pilot leans on the airspeed indicator before learning to read attitude.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 1,881 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
Touched down 700 m past the threshold — beyond the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with a taxiing period from the parking to the runway, which took 8 minutes and covered less than 1 nautical mile. The aircraft, a P180, then departed from runway 20 at EGKA Brighton City Airport. The takeoff distance was 460 meters, which accounted for 61% of the runway. The liftoff speed was 119 knots.
The local weather conditions at the time of departure were characterized by a temperature of 15°C, with a wind speed of 15 knots blowing from 210°. This resulted in a 2-knot crosswind and a 15-knot headwind. The aircraft began its enroute climb 1 mile south of Lancing, West Sussex, England, and ascended from 1,034 feet above sea level to 2,532 feet above sea level, an increase of 1,498 feet in 2 minutes, covering a distance of 4 nautical miles.
The enroute level cruise started overhead Findon, West Sussex, England, and lasted for 2 minutes, covering 2 nautical miles. The aircraft then began another enroute climb, this time from 2,997 feet above sea level to 3,551 feet above sea level, an increase of 554 feet in 2 minutes, covering a distance of 6 nautical miles. The enroute level cruise resumed 1 mile north of Pulborough, West Sussex, England, and lasted for 9 minutes, covering 32 nautical miles.
The aircraft then began another enroute climb, this time from 3,978 feet above sea level to 7,888 feet above sea level, an increase of 3,910 feet in 5 minutes, covering a distance of 19 nautical miles. The enroute level cruise resumed 1 mile south west of Ramsbury, Wiltshire, England, and lasted for 14 minutes, covering 29 nautical miles. The enroute descent started 1 mile north west of Charlcombe, Bath and North East Somerset, England, and descended from 7,892 feet above sea level to 2,091 feet above sea level, a decrease of 5,801 feet in 6 minutes, covering a distance of 8 nautical miles.
The final approach to runway 27 at EGGD Bristol Airport was made from the east, heading 251.0° at 3 nautical miles and 1,467 feet above ground level. The landing was made on runway 27, which had a length of 1,881 meters. The threshold height was good, and the threshold speed was slightly above the target at 126 knots. The touchdown point was 271 meters beyond the touchdown zone, with a touchdown speed of 106 knots and a touchdown rate of -88 feet per minute, which was excellent.
The total landing distance was 1,115 meters, accounting for 59% of the runway. The runway rollout alignment was perfect. The taxiing period from the runway to the parking took 3 minutes and covered 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 108 nautical miles, taking 45 minutes, and the aircraft used 254 kilograms of fuel.
The aircraft, identified as FFX P180 03 01, successfully landed at EGGD Bristol Airport, achieving a score of 94.5%. The final approach to runway 27 was conducted from the east, with the aircraft heading 251.0° at a distance of 3 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,467 feet above ground level (agl).
Upon landing, the aircraft touched down on the runway, with the threshold height being described as good. However, the threshold speed was slightly above the target speed of 126 knots. The touchdown point was located 271 meters beyond the touchdown zone, which is a relatively safe distance. The touchdown speed of 106 knots was considered good, and the touchdown rate of -88 feet per minute (fpm) was excellent, indicating a smooth and controlled descent.
The local weather conditions at the time of the landing were characterized by a temperature of 13°C and a wind speed of 24 knots from a direction of 270°. This resulted in a crosswind of 2 knots and a headwind of 24 knots, which presented a moderate challenge for the pilot. Despite these conditions, the pilot successfully managed the aircraft, achieving perfect runway touchdown alignment and a perfect runway rollout alignment.
The total landing distance of 1,115 meters was 59% of the runway length, indicating a relatively short landing distance. Overall, the landing was considered successful, with the aircraft achieving a high score and demonstrating good control and handling.
