MY FS FLIGHTS
Flight Score
Work on the flare
Arrive slow and the sink rate at the threshold is already above schedule, the flare is short because there is no energy to extend it, and the touchdown is hard in a way that feels exactly like a late flare. Diagnosing a slow arrival as a late flare is the catastrophic misread: you respond by flaring earlier, which bleeds more speed, which makes the next one worse. The tiebreaker is threshold speed against VRef, not feel. Never diagnose a flare without it.

One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 1,690 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,690 m of the 2,434 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 369 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with the aircraft taxiing from the parking area to the runway, a process that took 7 minutes and covered a distance of 2 nautical miles. The Airbus A320 then departed from runway 28L at Dublin Airport, EIDW, with a takeoff distance of 1,551 meters, which accounted for 59% of the runway. The liftoff speed was 158 knots.
As the aircraft took to the skies, it encountered local weather conditions of 12°C temperature and a wind speed of 9 knots at 230°. The crosswind and headwind components were both 6 knots. The enroute climb started 1 mile west of Dublin Airport and saw the aircraft ascend from 1,260 feet above sea level to 20,215 feet, an increase of 18,955 feet in 9 minutes, covering a distance of 38 nautical miles.
The enroute level cruise began 25 miles northwest of Holyhead, Anglesey, Wales, and lasted for 5 minutes, covering 37 nautical miles. The aircraft then started its enroute descent 8 miles northeast of Amlwch, Anglesey, Wales, and descended from 20,250 feet to 3,574 feet, a decrease of 16,676 feet in 15 minutes, covering 73 nautical miles.
The enroute level cruise resumed overhead Haughton Green, Borough of Tameside, England, and lasted for 8 minutes, covering 2 nautical miles. The aircraft then began its final descent overhead Hyde, Borough of Tameside, England, and descended from 3,198 feet to 1,542 feet, a decrease of 1,656 feet in 2 minutes, covering 5 nautical miles.
The final approach to runway 23R at Manchester Airport, EGCC, was made from the northeast, heading 231.0° at 4 nautical miles and 1,312 feet above ground level. The landing was executed on the runway, which had a length of 2,434 meters. The threshold height was good, but the threshold speed was slightly above the target at 145 knots.
The touchdown distance was good at 370 meters, but the touchdown speed of 144 knots was fast, and the touchdown rate was heavy at -669 feet per minute. The runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned by 3.2 meters from the centerline. The local weather conditions at the time of landing were 10°C temperature and a wind speed of 4 knots at 180°, with a crosswind and headwind component of 3 knots each.
The total landing distance was 1,613 meters, accounting for 66% of the runway. The runway rollout alignment was very good. The aircraft then taxied to the parking area from the runway, a process that took 4 minutes and covered less than 1 nautical mile.
The total flight distance was 164 nautical miles, and the flight duration was 51 minutes. The aircraft used 2,051 kilograms of fuel during the flight.
The Airbus A320 successfully landed on runway 23R at Manchester Airport (EGCC) with a score of 93.5%. The aircraft was approaching the runway from the north east, heading 231.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,312 feet above ground level (agl). The final approach was executed with good threshold height, indicating that the aircraft was properly configured for landing.
Upon touchdown, the threshold speed was slightly above the target speed of 145 knots, which may have been due to the aircraft's descent rate or the pilot's decision to flare slightly earlier than expected. The touchdown distance of 370 meters was within acceptable limits, but the touchdown speed of 144 knots was slightly faster than desired. This may have resulted in a heavier touchdown rate of -669 feet per minute (fpm), which could have put additional stress on the aircraft's landing gear.
The runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned by 3.2 meters from the centerline, which may have been due to a slight deviation in the aircraft's approach path or a miscalculation of the runway alignment. However, the local weather conditions were favorable, with a temperature of 10°C and a light wind of 4 knots at 180°. The crosswind component was minimal at 3 knots, and the headwind component was also 3 knots, which helped to stabilize the aircraft during the approach.
The total landing distance of 1,613 meters was 66% of the runway length, which is within acceptable limits. The runway rollout alignment was very good, indicating that the pilots maintained control of the aircraft during the rollout phase and were able to bring the aircraft to a stop safely. Overall, the landing was successful, but there were some minor deviations from the desired parameters that could be addressed in future training or operations.
