MY FS FLIGHTS
Flight Score
Know your rotation speed
A typical trainer rotates in the mid-50s of knots - a 172 at around 55 KIAS, climbing out at a Vy in the low 70s, though check your own POH rather than memorising Cessna's numbers - and the transferable rule is that Vr sits just above the stall speed in takeoff configuration. Rotate early because "it felt ready" and the aircraft lifts off inside ground effect, where induced drag is reduced, then climbs out of it into more drag. On a marginal-performance day the result is an aircraft that lifts off and then refuses to climb, sagging back towards the runway.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
Two stabilised approach gates, each with seven checks, where the approach path is 1,000 ft and 500 ft above the runway. They are the approach's score: the checks passed out of the checks that ran.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 2,138 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 380 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
Departing from Brussels Airport, the Airbus A319 began its journey on runway 25R, taking off with a distance of 1,518 meters, which accounted for 49% of the runway. The aircraft lifted off at a speed of 157 knots, overcoming a headwind of 2 knots. As it departed the Belgian airspace, the aircraft climbed to an altitude of 34,009 feet above sea level, an increase of 32,717 feet from its initial altitude of 1,292 feet. This climb phase, which started over Machelen, took 19 minutes and covered 107 nautical miles.
The aircraft then entered a level cruise phase, maintaining an altitude of 34,009 feet above sea level, over Couloisy, France. This phase lasted for 23 minutes and covered 336 nautical miles. The aircraft then began its descent, reducing its altitude from 34,016 feet to 7,042 feet above sea level, a decrease of 26,973 feet, in 12 minutes and covering 131 nautical miles. This descent phase started 2 miles west of Saint-Symphorien, France. The aircraft continued to experience various climb and descent phases, adjusting its altitude to navigate through the French and Spanish airspace.
The final approach to runway 30 at Bilbao Airport was initiated from the south-east, with the aircraft descending from 1,814 feet above sea level to touch down on the runway. The touchdown distance was 382 meters, and the touchdown speed was 112 knots. The aircraft landed on the runway, which was 2,130 meters long, and the total landing distance was 981 meters, accounting for 46% of the runway. After landing, the aircraft taxied to the parking area, taking 5 minutes and covering less than 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 621 nautical miles, and the aircraft used 3,987 kilograms of fuel during the flight, which lasted for 78 minutes.
The final approach to runway 30 at LEBB Bilbao Airport from the south east was executed with good quality, with the aircraft maintaining a steady heading of 297.0° at 4 nm and 1,682 ft above ground level. The approach was conducted in a 2,130 m runway environment, with a threshold height that was well within acceptable limits. The threshold speed of 123 kt was also satisfactory, indicating a well-controlled descent.
As the aircraft touched down on the runway, the touchdown distance of 382 m was within the expected range, and the touchdown speed of 112 kt was also good. However, the touchdown rate of -388 fpm was slightly firmer than desired, suggesting a slightly steeper descent than intended. The runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned from the centreline by 6.1 m, which may have been due to a slight deviation in the approach path. Local weather conditions, with a temperature of 15°C and a light headwind of 2 kt, were generally favorable for the landing.
The total landing distance of 981 m, which accounted for 46% of the runway length, was within acceptable limits. During the rollout phase, the aircraft's alignment was slightly misaligned from the centreline by 9.7 m, which may have been due to a slight deviation in the braking or steering. Overall, the landing was considered satisfactory, with a score of 94.3% reflecting the good approach quality, touchdown characteristics, and rollout performance.
