MY FS FLIGHTS
Flight Score
Smooth the climb
Pull to 15 degrees at one rate and you get a clean liftoff, pull to the same 15 degrees at twice the rate and you get an overshoot, a push, and an oscillation through the first few hundred feet. The type-general rule of thumb is a rotation rate of about 2 to 3 degrees per second, which means roughly five to seven seconds from starting the pull to reaching the initial climb attitude of around 15 degrees nose-up. Count it out loud during your next takeoff and you will almost certainly discover you have been rotating in two seconds flat.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 5,000 ft of the approach.
Plan view — the first 5,000 ft of the 11,467 ft runway, to the same scale as the side view.
Touched down 1,842 ft past the threshold — beyond the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with a taxiing period from the parking to the runway, which took 10 minutes and covered a distance of 2 nautical miles. The aircraft, an Airbus A320, then departed from runway 09 at SVMG Del Caribe Santiago Mariño International Airport, Isla Margarita, Venezuela. The takeoff distance was 4,064 feet, which accounted for 41% of the runway. The liftoff speed was 136 knots.
The local weather conditions at the time of departure were characterized by a temperature of 85 degrees Fahrenheit, with a wind speed of 6 knots at 98 degrees. The crosswind component was 2 knots, while the headwind component was 5 knots. The aircraft began its enroute climb 1 mile east of the airport, rising from an altitude of 1,050 feet above sea level to 26,007 feet above sea level, an increase of 24,956 feet in 16 minutes and covering a distance of 77 nautical miles.
The enroute climb was followed by a level cruise, which started 11 miles south of SVDA La Tortuga Punta Delgada Airport, Isla La Tortuga, Venezuela. This cruise phase lasted for 4 minutes and covered a distance of 34 nautical miles. The aircraft then began its enroute descent 23 miles northeast of SVHG Higuerote Airport, Higuerote, Venezuela. The descent from 26,035 feet above sea level to 4,002 feet above sea level, a decrease of 22,033 feet in 15 minutes and covering a distance of 92 nautical miles.
The enroute descent was followed by another level cruise, which started 23 miles west of Catia La Mar, Venezuela. This cruise phase lasted for 7 minutes and covered a distance of 15 nautical miles. The aircraft then began its final descent 8 miles west of Catia La Mar, Venezuela. The descent from 3,333 feet above sea level to 1,522 feet above sea level, a decrease of 1,811 feet in 2 minutes and covering a distance of 6 nautical miles.
The final approach to runway 10 at SVMI Simón Bolívar International Airport was made from the west, with a heading of 88.0 degrees at 4 nautical miles and 1,335 feet above ground level. The landing on runway 10 was successful, with a touchdown point 481 feet beyond the touchdown zone. The touchdown speed was 128 knots, which was good, and the touchdown rate was smooth at -139 feet per minute. The runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned by 20 feet from the centerline.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of 91 degrees Fahrenheit, with a wind speed of 2 knots at 82 degrees. The crosswind component was 0 knots, while the headwind component was 2 knots. The total landing distance was 3,306 feet, which accounted for 29% of the runway. The runway rollout alignment was very good.
The taxiing period from the runway to the parking took 4 minutes and covered a distance of less than 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 233 nautical miles, which was covered in 60 minutes. The aircraft used 6,194 pounds of fuel during the flight.
The Airbus A320 successfully landed at Simón Bolívar International Airport, achieving a high score of 97.1%. The aircraft approached the runway from the west, heading 88.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,335 feet above ground level (agl). The final approach was executed with precision, and the aircraft landed safely on runway 10, which has a length of 11,467 feet.
The threshold height was good, indicating that the aircraft was at the correct altitude as it approached the runway. The threshold speed of 138 knots was also within the acceptable range, demonstrating the pilot's ability to manage the aircraft's speed during the landing phase. The touchdown point was 481 feet beyond the touchdown zone, which is a relatively minor deviation. However, the touchdown speed of 128 knots was good, and the touchdown rate of -139 feet per minute (fpm) was smooth, indicating a controlled descent.
The local weather conditions were favorable, with a temperature of 91°F and a gentle wind of 2 knots at 82°. The crosswind component was negligible, and the headwind component was 2 knots, which had a minimal impact on the landing. The total landing distance of 3,306 feet was 29% of the runway length, which is a relatively short distance considering the aircraft's size and weight.
The runway rollout alignment was very good, indicating that the pilot maintained control of the aircraft during the post-landing phase. The slight misalignment of the runway touchdown position by 20 feet from the centerline was the only notable deviation from the ideal landing. Overall, the landing was executed with precision and control, and the aircraft came to a stop safely on the runway.
