MY FS FLIGHTS
Flight Score
Know your rotation speed
A typical trainer rotates in the mid-50s of knots - a 172 at around 55 KIAS, climbing out at a Vy in the low 70s, though check your own POH rather than memorising Cessna's numbers - and the transferable rule is that Vr sits just above the stall speed in takeoff configuration. Rotate early because "it felt ready" and the aircraft lifts off inside ground effect, where induced drag is reduced, then climbs out of it into more drag. On a marginal-performance day the result is an aircraft that lifts off and then refuses to climb, sagging back towards the runway.

Two stabilised approach gates, each with five checks, where the approach path is 1,000 ft and 500 ft above the runway.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 1,934 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,934 m of the 3,595 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 445 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight in question was operated by a Boeing 777-300 aircraft. The pre-flight preparations began with taxiing from the parking area to the runway, which took approximately 10 minutes and covered a distance of 2 nautical miles. The aircraft departed from runway 33R at Toronto Lester B. Pearson International Airport, with a takeoff distance of 1,946 meters, which accounted for 58% of the runway length. The liftoff speed was 191 knots.
As the aircraft climbed to its initial cruising altitude, it encountered local weather conditions of 6°C temperature and a 6-knot headwind from a direction of 229°. The enroute climb started approximately 1 mile northwest of the airport, with the aircraft ascending from 1,575 feet above sea level to 30,193 feet, an increase of 28,618 feet in 17 minutes, covering a distance of 109 nautical miles.
The aircraft then entered a level cruise phase, which lasted for 131 minutes and covered a distance of 1,104 nautical miles. This was followed by another climb phase, where the aircraft ascended from 29,315 feet to 31,067 feet in 2 minutes, covering a distance of 14 nautical miles. The level cruise phase that followed lasted for 184 minutes and covered a distance of 1,546 nautical miles.
The aircraft continued its journey, with multiple climb and level cruise phases, each with varying altitudes and distances covered. Notably, the climb phase from 30,420 feet to 32,380 feet in 3 minutes, covering a distance of 30 nautical miles, and the level cruise phase that lasted for 218 minutes, covering a distance of 1,791 nautical miles.
As the aircraft approached its destination, it encountered local weather conditions of 18°C temperature and a 2-knot headwind from a direction of 144°. The final approach to runway 12R at Dubai International Airport was made from the northwest, with the aircraft descending from 3,215 feet above sea level to 1,284 feet in 3 minutes, covering a distance of 8 nautical miles.
The landing on runway 12R was successful, with a touchdown distance of 443 meters, which was 52% of the runway length. The touchdown speed was slightly fast at 142 knots, but the runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned by 6.5 meters from the centerline. The total landing distance was 1,857 meters, and the runway rollout alignment was very good.
The post-flight preparations involved taxiing to the parking area from the runway, which took approximately 5 minutes and covered a distance of 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 6,018 nautical miles, with a total flight time of 742 minutes and a fuel consumption of 99,637 kilograms.
The Boeing 777-300 aircraft successfully landed at Dubai International Airport (OMDB) on runway 12R, achieving a high score of 97.9%. The final approach was initiated from the northwest, heading 121.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,246 feet above ground level (agl). The aircraft maintained a steady descent, and the threshold height was reported as good, indicating a well-executed approach.
Upon touchdown, the aircraft's threshold speed was recorded at 146 knots, which is within the acceptable range. However, the touchdown speed of 142 knots was slightly faster than desired, resulting in a fair touchdown rate of -208 feet per minute (fpm). Despite this, the touchdown distance of 443 meters was considered good, indicating a controlled and stable landing.
The runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned by 6.5 meters from the centerline, which may have been due to factors such as wind or pilot error. However, the local weather conditions were favorable, with a temperature of 18°C and a gentle wind of 2 knots at 144°. The crosswind component was minimal at 1 knot, and the headwind component was 2 knots, which helped to stabilize the aircraft during the landing.
The total landing distance of 1,857 meters was 52% of the runway length, indicating a relatively short landing distance. The runway rollout alignment was reported as very good, suggesting that the aircraft's brakes were applied smoothly and effectively, and the pilot maintained control throughout the landing process. Overall, the landing was considered successful, with the aircraft touching down safely and rolling out in a controlled manner.
