MY FS FLIGHTS
Flight Score
Slow down before tight turns
Twenty knots on a monitor produces the visual sensation of about ten. The advice to "taxi at a walking pace" cannot fix this, because your sense of walking pace is exactly the thing that's broken. Put the groundspeed readout in your scan and obey it for the next fifty flights, the way a student pilot leans on the airspeed indicator before learning to read attitude.

Two stabilised approach gates, each with five checks, where the approach path is 1,000 ft and 500 ft above the runway.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 1,597 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,597 m of the 2,739 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 351 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
Departing from Copenhagen Kastrup Airport, the Airbus A350-900 began its journey by taxiing from the parking area to the runway, a process that took 20 minutes and covered a distance of 4 nautical miles. As it rolled down runway 22R, the aircraft accelerated to a liftoff speed of 163 knots, clearing the ground at a distance of 1,091 meters, which accounted for 36% of the runway's length. The local weather conditions at the time of departure featured a temperature of 22°C, with a wind speed of 22 knots from a direction of 250°, resulting in a crosswind of 11 knots and a headwind of 19 knots.
As the aircraft climbed to its initial cruising altitude, it began its enroute climb 2 miles south of Tarnby, Denmark, and continued to ascend to 36,002 feet above sea level, a gain of 34,967 feet in just 16 minutes, covering a distance of 205 nautical miles. The aircraft then entered a level cruise phase, lasting 33 minutes and covering 753 nautical miles, before initiating another climb 39 miles south of Höfn, Iceland. This climb phase saw the aircraft ascend to 38,001 feet above sea level, a gain of 2,000 feet in just 2 minutes, covering a distance of 52 nautical miles. The aircraft then entered another level cruise phase, lasting 45 minutes and covering 1,451 nautical miles, before initiating a final climb phase 46 miles east of Kuujjuaq Airport, Canada. This climb phase saw the aircraft ascend to 39,999 feet above sea level, a gain of 2,011 feet in just 2 minutes, covering a distance of 49 nautical miles.
As the aircraft began its descent into Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, it started its descent 3 miles south-east of Cherokee, North Carolina, and continued to descend to 5,535 feet above sea level, a loss of 34,260 feet in just 10 minutes, covering a distance of 129 nautical miles. The aircraft then entered a final level cruise phase, lasting 5 minutes and covering 16 nautical miles, before initiating its final descent phase overhead Chattahoochee Air Park, Georgia. The aircraft landed on runway 08L at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, touching down at a speed of 134 knots and a distance of 349 meters, which was slightly longer than the threshold speed. The aircraft then taxied to the parking area, a process that took 8 minutes and covered a distance of 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 4,139 nautical miles, taking 175 minutes, and the aircraft used 1,111 kilograms of fuel.
The Airbus A350-900 touched down on runway 08L at KATL Hartsfield Jackson Atlanta International Airport with a good threshold height, allowing the crew to maintain a stable approach profile. The aircraft's speed was well-managed, with a threshold speed of 135 kt, which was within the acceptable range. As the aircraft made contact with the runway, the touchdown distance of 349 m was satisfactory, but the touchdown speed of 134 kt was slightly above the ideal value.
The touchdown characteristics were firm, with a rate of -366 fpm, which is typical for a commercial airliner. However, the runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned by 4.2 m from the centreline, which may have been due to a slight deviation in the approach path. The local weather conditions, with a temperature of 36 °C and a light wind of 5 kt at 170 °, did not pose any significant challenges to the landing.
The Airbus A350-900 rolled out on the runway with excellent alignment, demonstrating good control and stability. The total landing distance of 1,522 m was within the acceptable range, accounting for 56% of the runway length. Overall, the landing was considered satisfactory, with a score of 98.1%. The crew's performance was commendable, and the aircraft's handling characteristics were well-managed throughout the approach and landing phases.
