Maintain the centreline
A small uncorrected heading error at 40 knots becomes a metre of offset per second by 100 knots, noticed only at rotation, producing a crabbed liftoff. Root cause is nearly always eyes on the tape instead of the far end of the runway. Small heading changes displace a distant point visibly long before the nearby centreline stripes look wrong.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 1,592 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,592 m of the 2,744 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 180 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with a taxiing period from the parking to the runway, which took 5 minutes and covered a distance of 2 nautical miles. The aircraft, a CRJ900, then departed from runway 30L at the Minneapolis–Saint Paul International Airport (KMSP). The takeoff distance was 1,224 meters, which was 40% of the runway length. The liftoff speed was 153 knots, and the local weather conditions at the time of departure were a temperature of 10°C, with a wind speed of 12 knots at 300°.
As the aircraft climbed away from the airport, it began its enroute climb, which started overhead the Minneapolis–Saint Paul International Airport. The climb took 8 minutes and covered a distance of 31 nautical miles, during which the aircraft ascended from an altitude of 1,876 feet above sea level to 17,348 feet above sea level, an increase of 15,472 feet.
Following the enroute climb, the aircraft entered a level cruise phase, which started 2 miles east of Big Lake, Minnesota. This phase lasted for 20 minutes and covered a distance of 109 nautical miles. The aircraft then began its enroute descent, which started 3 miles northwest of Dalton, Minnesota. The descent took 9 minutes and covered a distance of 41 nautical miles, during which the aircraft descended from an altitude of 17,216 feet above sea level to 2,744 feet above sea level, a decrease of 14,472 feet.
The aircraft then entered another level cruise phase, which started 6 miles south of Ellig Field Hickson, North Dakota. This phase lasted for 5 minutes and covered a distance of 14 nautical miles. The aircraft then began its final approach to runway 36 at Hector International Airport (KFAR), which was located to the south. The approach was made at a heading of 1.0°, 4 nautical miles from the runway, and at an altitude of 1,238 feet above ground level.
The landing was made on runway 36, which had a length of 2,744 meters. The threshold height was good, and the threshold speed was also good at 143 knots. The touchdown distance was good at 180 meters, but the touchdown speed was a little fast at 140 knots. The touchdown rate was hard at -403 feet per minute, and the runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned by 4.2 meters from the centerline. The local weather conditions at the time of landing were a temperature of 7°C, with a wind speed of 10 knots at 339°.
The total landing distance was 1,512 meters, which was 55% of the runway length. The runway rollout alignment was very good. The taxiing period from the runway to the parking took 4 minutes and covered a distance of less than 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 203 nautical miles, and the flight duration was 53 minutes. The aircraft used 1,320 kilograms of fuel during the flight.
The CRJ900 aircraft successfully landed at KFAR Hector International Airport, achieving a score of 97.3%. The final approach was conducted from the south, heading 1.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,238 feet above ground level (agl). The aircraft touched down on runway 36, which has a length of 2,744 meters.
The threshold height was satisfactory, and the threshold speed of 143 knots was also within acceptable limits. However, the touchdown speed of 140 knots was slightly higher than desired, indicating that the aircraft may have been slightly fast on touchdown. The touchdown rate of -403 feet per minute (fpm) was considered hard, suggesting that the aircraft may have experienced a significant deceleration upon touchdown.
The runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned from the centerline by 4.2 meters, which may have been due to factors such as crosswind or pilot error. The local weather conditions at the time of landing included a temperature of 7°C and a wind speed of 10 knots from 339°. The crosswind component was 4 knots, while the headwind component was 10 knots.
The total landing distance of 1,512 meters was 55% of the runway length, which is considered acceptable. The runway rollout alignment was very good, indicating that the aircraft was able to maintain a stable and controlled deceleration after touchdown. Overall, the landing was considered successful, with the aircraft achieving a high score despite some minor issues with touchdown speed and runway alignment.
