MY FS FLIGHTS
Flight Score
Smooth the climb
A good takeoff has a defined shape. It also has a defined end. For an airliner that's thrust reduction and acceleration, commonly somewhere around 1,000 to 1,500 ft above the airfield depending on the operator, while for a light aircraft it's established at Vy with the flaps on schedule. Most simmers have no defined end to their takeoff, which is exactly why it never gets judged.

Two stabilised approach gates, each with five checks, where the approach path is 1,000 ft and 500 ft above the runway.
At the 1,000 ft gate: sink rate above what the glideslope needed.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 1,560 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,560 m of the 3,656 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
Touched down 519 m past the threshold — beyond the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The Airbus A330-900 taxied from the parking area to runway 14R at WMKK Kuala Lumpur International Airport, a movement that lasted 10 minutes and covered 2 nm.
During the departure roll on runway 14R, the aircraft accelerated to a liftoff speed of 178 kt, using a takeoff distance of 2,506 m (61 % of the runway) while the ambient temperature was 28 °C.
The initial climb began 1 mile west of Sepang, rising from 928 ft asl to 31,998 ft asl - an increase of 31,070 ft - over 25 minutes and 154 nm.
Level cruise commenced 12 miles east of WIDT Raja Haji Abdullah and continued for 87 minutes, covering 651 nm.
A second climb segment started 46 miles north-west of Tuban, climbing from 32,289 ft asl to 33,989 ft asl (gain of 1,700 ft) in 3 minutes while traversing 27 nm.
The aircraft then cruised level for 118 minutes, covering 970 nm, beginning 18 miles north-west of Tuban.
A further climb was initiated 59 miles south-east of Broome, raising altitude from 34,445 ft asl to 35,006 ft asl (gain of 560 ft) in 2 minutes and covering 14 nm.
Subsequent level cruise began 73 miles south-west of YMYR Myroodan Station Airport Derby and lasted 62 minutes, during which 558 nm were flown.
Descent commenced 18 miles north-west of YAYE Ayers Rock Connellan Airport Yulara, dropping from 34,994 ft asl to 34,297 ft asl (loss of 697 ft) in 2 minutes over 16 nm.
A brief level segment followed 2 miles north-west of YAYE, lasting 2 minutes and covering 15 nm.
The next descent started 4 miles east of Mutitjulu, descending from 34,000 ft asl to 33,187 ft asl (loss of 812 ft) in 2 minutes across 16 nm.
Level cruise then resumed 21 miles south-east of Mutitjulu, lasting 96 minutes and covering 898 nm.
Descent continued 5 miles west of Kerang, falling from 33,001 ft asl to 7,994 ft asl (loss of 25,007 ft) in 14 minutes while traveling 103 nm.
A short cruise segment began 2 miles north of Lancefield, lasting 2 minutes and covering 7 nm.
The final descent started 3 miles east of Romsey, dropping from 8,077 ft asl to 1,879 ft asl (loss of 6,198 ft) in 4 minutes and covering 15 nm.
On final approach to runway 16 at YMML Melbourne International Airport, the aircraft approached from the north on a heading of 172.0° at 4 nm and 1,466 ft agl.
A go-around was executed on runway 16 at YMML when the aircraft reached 393 ft agl.
Landing on runway 16 proceeded with a runway length of 3,656 m; the threshold speed was slightly above target at 143 kt, touchdown occurred 113 m beyond the touchdown zone at 143 kt, and the touchdown rate was hard at minus 421 fpm. Alignment at touchdown was perfect, with local weather reporting a temperature of 16 °C, wind 19 kt from 19°, a 9 kt crosswind and a 17 kt tailwind.
The rollout covered a total landing distance of 1,490 m (41 % of the runway) and the aircraft was slightly misaligned by 9.9 m from the centreline.
Taxi-in to the parking area from the runway required 4 minutes and covered less than 1 nm.
In total, the flight covered 3,502 nm, lasted 446 minutes, and consumed 45,774 kg of fuel.
The Airbus A330-900 entered the final approach to runway 16 at YMML Melbourne International Airport from the north on a heading of 172.0 ° at 4 nm and 1,466 ft agl. At the 1,000 ft gate the approach was assessed as unstable because the sink rate was too high.
At threshold the aircraft’s speed was slightly above target at 143 kt and the threshold height was good. The flare was executed with the aircraft still slightly fast, maintaining the target altitude for touchdown.
Touchdown occurred 113 m beyond the touchdown zone with a speed of 143 kt, described as a little fast, and the vertical rate was hard at minus 421 fpm. Runway touchdown alignment was perfect.
The total landing distance was 1,490 m, representing 41 % of the 3,656 m runway, and the rollout alignment was slightly misaligned by 9.9 m from the centreline. Local weather was 16 °C with wind 19 kt at 19 °, a 9 kt crosswind component and a 17 kt tailwind component.
Maintain a fully stabilized approach by managing sink rate to stay within limits before the 1,000 ft gate, and refine flare timing to reduce touchdown speed and vertical rate, which will improve touchdown smoothness while preserving the high overall score.
