Improve the pattern downwind leg
The 45-degrees-behind-the-wing cue assumes you can turn your head and use peripheral vision. Downwind spacing cues like "put the wingtip halfway up the strut" assume a fixed, known eyepoint. Neither survives a monitor unmodified. If you fly on a fixed monitor, stop pretending and fly a numbers-based circuit.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate for a circuit: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate is an instrument-approach check and does not apply.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 1,177 m of the approach.
Plan view — the full 1,177 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 211 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with a departure roll from runway 28 at N94 Carlisle, where the Cessna 152 aircraft took off with a takeoff distance of 99 meters, which accounted for 8% of the runway. The liftoff speed was 34 knots, and the local weather conditions were characterized by a temperature of 15 degrees Celsius and a wind speed of 1 knot at 269 degrees.
As the aircraft entered the left-hand pattern from runway 28, it demonstrated impressive agility, completing the turn in less than 1 nautical mile in just 12 seconds. The subsequent left-hand pattern crosswind turn was also executed efficiently, taking less than 1 nautical mile in 29 seconds. The pattern downwind turn was a bit longer, covering a distance of 2 nautical miles at an angle of 45 degrees to the runway, with a heading of 140.3 degrees.
The final approach to runway 28 was made from the east, with the aircraft maintaining a heading of 272.0 degrees at 1 nautical mile and 335 feet above ground level. The landing was smooth, with the threshold height being good and the threshold speed slightly below the target at 55 knots. The touchdown distance was also good, measuring 209 meters, and the touchdown speed was 38 knots, which was within the acceptable range. The touchdown rate was excellent, at -78 feet per minute, and the runway touchdown alignment was very good.
The local weather conditions remained consistent throughout the flight, with a temperature of 15 degrees Celsius and a wind speed of 1 knot at 270 degrees. The crosswind was negligible, and the headwind was 1 knot. The total flight distance was 3 nautical miles, and the flight duration was 4 minutes. The aircraft used 1 kilogram of fuel during the flight. Overall, the flight was executed efficiently and safely, with the pilot demonstrating excellent flying skills and adherence to standard procedures.
The Cessna 152 aircraft successfully landed at N94 Carlisle, achieving a score of 97.8%. The final approach was conducted from the east, heading 272.0° at 1 nautical mile and 335 feet above ground level (agl). The aircraft demonstrated good control and precision during the approach, ultimately landing safely on runway 28.
The runway at N94 Carlisle has a length of 1,177 meters, providing a suitable surface for the Cessna 152 to touch down. The threshold height was reported as good, indicating that the aircraft was at the correct altitude as it approached the runway. However, the threshold speed was slightly below the target speed of 55 knots, which may be a minor area for improvement.
The touchdown distance of 209 meters was considered good, indicating that the aircraft was able to slow down effectively and maintain control during the landing. The touchdown speed of 38 knots was also reported as good, suggesting that the pilot was able to manage the aircraft's speed and energy during the approach. The touchdown rate of -78 feet per minute (fpm) was excellent, demonstrating a smooth and controlled descent.
The runway touchdown alignment was very good, indicating that the aircraft was properly aligned with the runway and able to touch down in the correct position. The local weather conditions at the time of the landing were favorable, with a temperature of 15°C and a wind speed of 1 knot from 270°. The crosswind component was negligible, and the headwind component was minimal, providing a stable and predictable environment for the landing.
Overall, the Cessna 152 aircraft demonstrated a high level of proficiency and control during the landing at N94 Carlisle, achieving a score of 97.8% and showcasing a safe and effective approach and landing technique.
