Slow down before tight turns
Twenty knots on a monitor produces the visual sensation of about ten. The advice to "taxi at a walking pace" cannot fix this, because your sense of walking pace is exactly the thing that's broken. Put the groundspeed readout in your scan and obey it for the next fifty flights, the way a student pilot leans on the airspeed indicator before learning to read attitude.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
Two stabilised approach gates, each with five checks, where the approach path is 1,000 ft and 500 ft above the runway.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 2,713 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 416 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The aircraft taxied from the parking area to runway 28L at KSFO, covering 3 nm in 7 minutes.
During the departure roll on runway 28L, the aircraft used 2,171 m of runway, representing 64 % of the available length, and lifted off at 162 kt. Ambient conditions were 28 °C with a wind of 9 kt from 030°, providing a 9 kt cross-wind component and no head-wind.
Climb commenced overhead San Bruno, with the airplane ascending from 967 ft asl to 30,953 ft asl, a gain of 29,985 ft achieved in 17 minutes while covering 100 nm.
The first cruise segment began 3 mi west of O23 Pinnacles Ranch Airport, Paicines, and lasted 24 minutes, during which 123 nm were flown at level altitude.
Descent started 4 mi north of 5CN4 Vosburgh Airfield, New Cuyama, with the aircraft descending from 31,012 ft asl to 6,043 ft asl, a loss of 24,969 ft in 16 minutes over 89 nm.
A brief cruise followed 2 mi north of View Park-Windsor Hills, lasting 2 minutes and covering 7 nm.
The second descent began 1 mi north-east of Boyle Heights, with altitude decreasing from 6,006 ft asl to 1,449 ft asl, a reduction of 4,557 ft in 5 minutes across 18 nm.
On final approach to runway 24R at KLAX, the aircraft approached from the east on a heading of 263.0°, intercepting the glide path at 4 nm and 1,313 ft agl.
Landing on runway 24R, which is 2,713 m long, the threshold height of 58 ft agl and threshold speed of 141 kt were slightly above target. Touchdown occurred 418 m down the runway at 134 kt, with a hard touchdown rate of minus 478 fpm; runway alignment at touchdown was perfect. Local weather reported 27 °C, wind 17 kt from 229°, a 9 kt cross-wind and a 14 kt head-wind component.
The total landing distance recorded was 1,346 m, representing 50 % of the runway, and rollout alignment was very good.
After landing, the aircraft taxied to the parking area, covering 2 nm in 6 minutes.
Overall, the flight covered 347 nm in 70 minutes and consumed 2,796 kg of fuel.
The Airbus A320 established the final approach to runway 24R at KLAX from the east, tracking a heading of 263.0° at 4 nm and 1,313 ft agl while the local temperature was 27 °C and the wind was 17 kt from 229°, providing a 14 kt headwind and a 9 kt crosswind component.
At the threshold the aircraft was 58 ft agl, which was slightly above target, and the threshold speed was slightly above target at 141 kt.
Touchdown occurred 418 m down the runway, a good distance, with a touchdown speed of 134 kt that was a little fast and a hard touchdown rate of minus 478 fpm; runway touchdown alignment was perfect.
The rollout covered a total landing distance of 1,346 m, representing 50 % of the 2,713 m runway, and runway rollout alignment was very good.
Reduce the touchdown speed slightly and aim for a smoother flare to moderate the hard rate, which will bring the already strong performance closer to the optimal target.
