Monitor your taxi speed
Twenty knots on a monitor produces the visual sensation of about ten. The advice to "taxi at a walking pace" cannot fix this, because your sense of walking pace is exactly the thing that's broken. Put the groundspeed readout in your scan and obey it for the next fifty flights, the way a student pilot leans on the airspeed indicator before learning to read attitude.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 5,000 ft of the approach.
Plan view — the first 5,000 ft of the 10,159 ft runway, to the same scale as the side view.
Touched down 2,259 ft past the threshold — beyond the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight was conducted on a REDWING SUPER CONSTELLATION 1049 C aircraft, which took off from runway 36L at KMCO Orlando International Airport. The departure roll began after a 5-minute taxiing period, covering 2 nautical miles. The takeoff distance was 2,913 feet, which accounted for 24% of the runway. The aircraft lifted off at a speed of 112 knots.
The local weather conditions at the time of takeoff were characterized by a temperature of 67°F and a wind speed of 11 knots from a direction of 270°. This resulted in a crosswind of 11 knots and a headwind of 0 knots. The aircraft began its enroute climb 1 mile northwest of KMCO Orlando International Airport, rising from an altitude of 604 feet above sea level to 18,351 feet above sea level, an increase of 17,747 feet, in 13 minutes and covering 43 nautical miles.
The enroute level cruise started 6 miles south of West Melbourne, Florida, and lasted for 8 minutes, covering 26 nautical miles. The aircraft then began another enroute climb 4 miles east of Gifford, Florida, rising from 18,460 feet to 20,573 feet, an increase of 2,114 feet, in 4 minutes and covering 17 nautical miles. The enroute level cruise resumed 12 miles east of Fort Pierce, Florida, and lasted for 45 minutes, covering 806 nautical miles.
As the aircraft approached its destination, it began its enroute descent 14 miles east of Miches, Dominican Republic, descending from 20,566 feet to 1,451 feet, a decrease of 19,115 feet, in 13 minutes and covering 15 nautical miles. The enroute level cruise started again 7 miles northeast of Otra Banda, Dominican Republic, and lasted for 9 minutes, covering 16 nautical miles.
The final approach to runway 09 at MDPC Punta Cana International Airport was conducted from the west, heading 91.0° at 1 nautical mile and 282 feet above ground level. The landing was executed on a runway length of 10,159 feet, with a good threshold height. The threshold speed was also good at 114 knots. The touchdown point was 868 feet beyond the touchdown zone, with a touchdown speed of 102 knots and an excellent touchdown rate of -72 feet per minute.
The runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned by 20 feet from the centreline, and the runway rollout alignment was also slightly misaligned by 26 feet from the centreline. The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of 75°F and a wind speed of 0 knots from a direction of 223°. The crosswind and headwind were both 0 knots.
The total landing distance was 4,444 feet, which accounted for 44% of the runway. The taxiing to the parking from the runway took 1 minute and covered less than 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 928 nautical miles, taking 100 minutes, and the aircraft used 14,117 pounds of fuel.
The REDWING SUPER CONSTELATION 1049 C American Overseas successfully landed at MDPC Punta Cana International Airport, achieving a score of 90.9%. The aircraft approached the runway from the west, heading 91.0° at 1 nautical mile and 282 feet above ground level (agl). The final approach was executed with precision, and the aircraft landed on runway 09, which has a length of 10,159 feet.
The threshold height was good, and the threshold speed was also satisfactory at 114 knots. The touchdown point was 868 feet beyond the touchdown zone, and the touchdown speed was 102 knots, which is within the acceptable range. The touchdown rate was excellent at -72 feet per minute (fpm), indicating a smooth and controlled descent.
However, there were some minor deviations from the ideal landing performance. The runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned by 20 feet from the centreline, and the runway rollout alignment was also slightly off-centre by 26 feet. Despite these minor discrepancies, the overall landing performance was satisfactory.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were favorable, with a temperature of 75°F and a wind speed of 0 knots at 223°. There was no crosswind or headwind, which contributed to the smooth landing. The total landing distance was 4,444 feet, which is 44% of the runway length. Overall, the REDWING SUPER CONSTELATION 1049 C American Overseas demonstrated a good landing performance, with some minor areas for improvement.
