Monitor your taxi speed
Twenty knots on a monitor produces the visual sensation of about ten. The advice to "taxi at a walking pace" cannot fix this, because your sense of walking pace is exactly the thing that's broken. Put the groundspeed readout in your scan and obey it for the next fifty flights, the way a student pilot leans on the airspeed indicator before learning to read attitude.

Two stabilised approach gates, each with five checks, where the approach path is 1,000 ft and 500 ft above the runway.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 3,048 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 217 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The Airbus A320 taxied from the parking area to runway 36 at Milano Linate Airport in 7 minutes, covering a ground distance of 3 nm.
During the departure roll on runway 36, the aircraft accelerated to a liftoff speed of 153 kt and became airborne after traveling 1,630 m, which represented 67 % of the runway length; ambient conditions were 24 °C with a wind of 1 kt from 120°, a 1 kt cross-wind component and a 1 kt tail-wind component.
Climb commenced over the RB11 Idroscalo Milan waypoint, with the aeroplane ascending from 1,358 ft asl to 35,011 ft asl-a gain of 33,652 ft-over 18 minutes while covering 127 nm.
The first cruise segment began overhead Casalfiumanese, lasting 25 minutes and extending 196 nm at a level altitude.
Descent was initiated 20 mi north-west of Isole Tremiti, during which the aircraft reduced altitude from 35,000 ft asl to 5,574 ft asl, a loss of 29,426 ft, in 20 minutes while traversing 137 nm.
A brief cruise followed 6 mi north-east of Torre Canne, lasting 3 minutes and covering 13 nm at constant altitude.
The next descent started 6 mi north-east of San Vito dei Normanni, dropping from 5,015 ft asl to 3,465 ft asl-a decrease of 1,550 ft-in 2 minutes and spanning 7 nm.
A subsequent cruise segment over 3 mi north of Materdomini lasted 5 minutes and added 18 nm to the flight path.
Descent resumed 13 mi north-east of Torchiarolo, with altitude falling from 3,038 ft asl to 2,080 ft asl, a loss of 957 ft, in 2 minutes over 5 nm.
The final cruise leg began 10 mi north-east of Surbo, lasting 4 minutes and covering 14 nm before the approach phase.
The aircraft entered the final approach to runway 31 at Brindisi Airport from the south-east, aligned on a heading of 319.0° at 4 nm and 1,010 ft agl.
Landing was executed on runway 31, whose length is 3,048 m; the threshold speed was 138 kt, touchdown occurred 220 m down the runway at 133 kt, and the aircraft touched down with a hard rate of minus 462 fpm, offset 4.5 m from the centreline. Local weather reported 35 °C, wind 6 kt from 309°, a 1 kt cross-wind and a 5 kt head-wind. The total landing roll measured 902 m, representing 30 % of the runway, and rollout alignment was very good.
After touchdown, the aircraft rolled out along the runway with the noted alignment and distance, then taxied from the runway to the parking area in 3 minutes, covering a ground distance of 1 nm.
In total, the flight covered 527 nm, required 91 minutes of elapsed time, and consumed 3,455 kg of fuel.
The Airbus A320 entered final approach to runway 31 at LIBR Brindisi Airport from the south-east on a heading of 319.0 ° at 4 nm and 1,010 ft agl. The approach was assessed as stabilised at the 1,000 ft gate, with gear, flaps, sink rate, glideslope and centreline all within limits.
During the threshold and flare phase the aircraft maintained a good threshold speed of 138 kt and achieved a good touchdown distance of 220 m. The flare was executed within the expected parameters.
Touchdown occurred at a speed of 133 kt, noted as a little fast, with a hard rate of -462 fpm. The touchdown point was slightly misaligned by 4.5 m from the centreline.
Rollout continued with a very good alignment, covering a total landing distance of 902 m, which is 30 % of the 3,048 m runway. Local weather was 35 °C, wind 6 kt from 309 °, with a 1 kt crosswind component and a 5 kt headwind.
Minor refinements are recommended: aim to reduce touchdown speed toward the target VREF to lessen the hard rate, and adjust flare timing to achieve a smoother vertical profile while maintaining the current excellent rollout alignment.
