MY FS FLIGHTS
Flight Score
Speed on the slow side
Between four hundred and a thousand feet you're heavy, close to the ground and still carrying flap, and speed is the margin holding all three apart. Slow here doesn't feel like anything — the aeroplane climbs, the nose is up, nothing complains — right up until a turn, a gust or a bank tightens the wing's job and the margin is already gone. The fix is rarely "fly faster", it's lowering the nose a degree and letting the speed build before the next thing you do. Pitch buys altitude, speed buys options, and at this height options are the scarcer of the two.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
Two stabilised approach gates, each with seven checks, where the approach path is 1,000 ft and 500 ft above the runway. They are the approach's score: the checks passed out of the checks that ran.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 3,201 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 301 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
Departing from Ivato Airport in Antananarivo, Madagascar, the Boeing 737-900 began its journey with a taxiing period of 4 minutes, covering a distance of 1 nautical mile to reach the runway. The aircraft then took off from runway 11, utilizing 1,424 meters, or 46% of the runway, to achieve liftoff at a speed of 144 knots. The local weather conditions at the time of departure were characterized by a temperature of 17°C, with a wind speed of 4 knots at 79°, resulting in a headwind component of 3 knots.
As the aircraft climbed to its enroute cruise altitude, it traversed a distance of 286 nautical miles in 40 minutes, ascending from 5,072 feet to 37,862 feet. The climb phase was initiated 1 mile east of Ivato Airport and concluded 17 miles south of Ankazoabo Airport in the Atsimo-Andrefana Region of Madagascar. The subsequent enroute level cruise phase lasted for 123 minutes, covering a distance of 889 nautical miles. The aircraft then began its descent, reducing its altitude from 37,994 feet to 7,589 feet in 20 minutes, while covering a distance of 133 nautical miles. The final approach to Moshoeshoe I International Airport in Lesotho was executed from the north, with a heading of 195.0° at 4 nautical miles and 1,270 feet above ground level.
The Boeing 737-900 landed on runway 22 at Moshoeshoe I International Airport, utilizing 28% of the 3,201-meter runway. The touchdown distance was 304 meters, and the touchdown speed was 129 knots, both of which were within acceptable limits. The aircraft then taxied to the parking area, covering a distance of less than 1 nautical mile in 1 minute. The total flight distance was 1,324 nautical miles, with a total flight time of 191 minutes and a fuel consumption of 8,903 kilograms.
The Boeing 737-900 touched down on runway 22 at FXMM Moshoeshoe I International Airport with a score of 99.8%. The aircraft approached the runway from the north, heading 195.0° at 4 nautical miles and 1,270 feet above ground level. The final approach was characterized by good quality, with a smooth and controlled descent. The threshold height was well managed, and the threshold speed was achieved at 135 knots, indicating a well-executed landing configuration.
As the aircraft made contact with the runway, the touchdown characteristics were good, with a distance of 304 meters and a speed of 129 knots. However, the touchdown rate was slightly higher than ideal at -208 feet per minute, which may have been due to a slight over-rotation. Despite this, the runway touchdown alignment was perfect, with the aircraft centered on the runway. The local weather conditions, with a temperature of 19°C and a wind speed of 2 knots, contributed to a smooth and stable approach.
The total landing distance of 906 meters, which accounted for 28% of the runway length, was well within the acceptable range. The runway rollout alignment was also perfect, with the aircraft maintaining its centerline alignment throughout the rollout phase. Overall, the landing was executed well, with the aircraft demonstrating good control and precision throughout the approach, touchdown, and rollout phases.
